Buchipu is a barren fluid world with oceans consisting of heavily contaminated water or a substance such as ammonia, methane, hydrocarbons, or other exotic liquid.
- This world has no overt population, government, or law level.
- This world could be populated if anyone had an inclination to do so...
- It is an unclaimed Non-Aligned world located in the Nest Subsector of Thaku Fung Sector.
- This die back world was once settled and developed, but the inhabitants have either died off or left, leaving behind the ruins and remnants of their civilization.

System Data[edit]
The worlds of the system have been surveyed. They consist of:
- The mainworld.
- x10 secondary rocky worlds.
- x6 gas giants.
Mainworld Data[edit]
Mainworld Size (S)[edit]
Buchipu is a Meso World between 12,000km and 13,500km in diameter. The world has a standard gravity between 0.8G and 1.1G. The horizon will appear about 5.1km away. Vessels with 1G of thrust should check with local starport authorities before attempting to land using emergency power.
Mainworld Atmosphere (A)[edit]
Buchipu has an Exotic Atmosphere and possesses an unusual gas mix which requires the use of oxygen tanks. Additionally, protective suits, while not necessary, are recommended. TL–8 or more advanced survival gear is required to settle this world.
Mainworld Hydrosphere (H)[edit]
Buchipu has 35-45% of its surface covered by liquid water or ice heavily tainted with other substances, which makes it dangerous, corrosive, or toxic. Wilderness refueling will be difficult. Water for the inhabitants needs to be imported and extensively recycled. These worlds may be Hell Worlds.
- The water on the surface may be unsuitable for use or consumption without extensive filtering and purification.
- Refining for fuel may cause issues with shipboard purification plants.
Mainworld Geography and Topography[edit]
No centrally held map of the world exists within AAB Library Data records.
- Locally, detailed maps may be available.
Native Lifeforms[edit]
Exotic native life occupying a wide range of ecological niches. Its metabolic functions help drive the process of atmospheric renewal.
History & Background (Dossier)[edit]
Buchipu is a Die Back World, with abandoned ruins and remains on its surface. These are favorite locations for xeno-archaeologists, adventurers, and treasure seekers, among others. A wealth of valuable artifacts can be found by those willing to skirt laws which assert that the state or an organization has possession of such objects, rather than the individual who recovered them.
The system's primary star experiences occasional bouts of flare activity, which causes interference, strange tones and noises, and heavy static on commo and sensors.
- During major outbursts of flare activity radiation levels within the system are dangerously high.
- Exposure to elevated radiation levels causes serious health issues and may damage unshielded electronic devices.
World Starport (St)[edit]
Buchipu does not have a starport. The Class X Starport is an indication that no starport exists in the system. There are no facilities or services available, and no site marked for landing.
World Population (P)[edit]
Buchipu is a Barren World with no sophont population. It may still possess lifeforms.
World Technology Level (T)[edit]
Buchipu has a die back Tech Level of TL–0: little remains of the former settlements except rubble.
- The world has no functioning technological base.
Salvage
- Basic raw materials such as worked stone. There may be caches of manufactured items or the derelict remains of machinery accociated with infrastructure.
- These may be salvaged.
World Government (G)[edit]
Buchipu has no government or ruling authority of any kind.
World Law (L)[edit]
Buchipu has no law level. No laws of any kind are enforced.
Trade Data[edit]
- Importance: -3 (very unimportant)
World Economy[edit]
- Resources: 4 (scarce)
- Labor: 0 (unpopulated)
- Infrastructure: 0 (non-existent)
- Efficiency: -5 (extremely poor)

World Timeline[edit]
Major events that have affected this world and the wider region that it lies within:
- -9235: to rimward the Vilani discover jump drive technology. Over the centuries pioneers and settlers gradually spread across the core regions of Charted Space.
- -4045 to -2204: the Ziru Sirka controls vast territories.
- -3810: the Vargr discover jump technology and begin an era of expansion.
- -3700s onwards: waves of Vargr settle worlds across the Extents. Due to its vast distance from the core regions few Vargr ever reached the sector.
- -2431: Terrans discover jump drive technology.
- -2404 to -2215: the Interstellar Wars. The young Terran Confederation battles against and ultimately triumphs over the ancient Vilani Ziru Sirka.
- -2204 to -1776: the Rule of Man administers the former Ziru Sirka.
- -1862 to -1110: the Terran Mercantile Community controls the former territory of the Terran Confederation.
- -1776 to 0: the Long Night. There is widespread regression and some worlds become barren.
- circa -1700: Vargr expansion and settlement gradually ceases.
- -1690: Solomani colonists depart Terran space.
- -1685: the Solomani Preserve is founded.
- circa -200: Vargr expansion increases, with a few worlds being settled within the subsectors along the sector's rimward fringe. The Break Worlds region is more stringently enforced.
- The Year 0: far to rimward, the Third Imperium is founded.
- 300-420: the Imperial First Survey charts the system.
- 995-1065: the Imperial Second Survey charts the system.
- circa 1040: the Empress Wave, believed to be a bizarre, massive jumpspace anomaly, enters the coreward edge of the sector.
It travels at around 1 parsec per year in a rimward direction, leaving a wake of disruption and chaos as it passes. - 1065: the Second Survey is published.
- circa 1080: the Empress Wave exits the rimward edge of the sector.
Later Historical Eras[edit]
In general, "Later Historical Eras" refers to events that occur post-1116 – a date that marks the beginning of the Rebellion, which ultimately led to the collapse of the Third Imperium. The year 1116 is seen as a historical dividing line, as it were, between the old and the new.
The Imperial Rebellion and its consequences were largely meaningless on the far coreward edge of Charted Space – for worlds in Thaku Fung Sector the key historical event that marked the divide between the old and the new was the Empress Wave. In this context, "Later Historical Eras" generally refers to the events in the years, decades, and centuries following the passage of the Wave.
- The Wave entered the coreward edge of the subsector around the year 1040, passing through its territory at a rate of roughly 1 parsec per year, and exited the rimward edge of the subsector around the year 1050. Its effects varied from world to world, but were never good: it left insanity, ecological problems, societal collapse, and death in its wake.
