Bacelbron is an agricultural, nonindustrial world still lacking adequate means to expand its economy.
- As an agricultural world, this world is a near-ideal environment for producing quality foodstuffs of plant, animal, and other forms. Quality foodstuffs are a major export commodity for this world.
- It requires extensive imports of outside technology to maintain a modern, star-faring society. Having to import most manufactured and high tech goods drives the price up for these items at this world.
- It is a member of the Third Imperium in the Wolf Subsector of Zarushagar Sector in the Domain of Ilelish.
- This world has an Imperial Scout base, capable of handling IISS starships and personnel.
- It lies within the Provalan Cluster.
- This world was once settled by the Dishaan.
Description (Astrography & Planetology)
Stellar Data
Bacelbron is a binary star system.
- Both are red main sequence stars.
System Data
The worlds of the system have been surveyed. They consist of:
- The mainworld.
- x6 secondary rocky worlds.
- x1 planetoid belt.
- x4 gas giants.
Mainworld Data
Mainworld Size (S)
Bacelbron is a Meso World between 7,200km and 8,800km in diameter. The world has a standard gravity between 0.4G and 0.57G. The horizon will appear about 4km away.
Mainworld Atmosphere (A)
Bacelbron has a pressure of 0.43 to 0.70 atmospheres. The Thin Atmosphere does not require survival gear although it may be hard on sophonts not accustomed to it.
Mainworld Hydrosphere (H)
Bacelbron has 45-55% of its surface covered by liquid water. Wilderness refueling is possible.
Mainworld Geography and Topography
No centrally held map of the world exists within AAB Library Data records.
(Blank map, predominantly dry world.)
History & Background (Dossier)
Bacelbron is a member of the Provalan Cluster, a minor trade route in the rimward-trailing part of Zarushagar Sector.
More than six millennia ago the system was settled by the Dishaan, an aggressive minor race who had gained jump technology from Vilani traders. For a time it was a member of the Ushkaq Sasutxi, the Dishaan Hegemony: when that fractious state was absorbed by the expanding Ziru Sirka during the Consolidation Wars, those Dishaan present in the system were removed and returned to Provalan, their homeworld.
- Artifacts dating from the pre-Vilani Dishaan era are highly sought after and command premium prices.
- Looting of historical sites carries heavy penalties.
The depopulated system was subsequently settled by Vilani colonists, whose descendants remained there throughout the Ziru Sirka, the Rule of Man, and the Long Night. They were resistant to Darmine influence thoughout this period and stayed relatively insular and independent until the founding of the Third Imperium. They became (reluctant) Imperial citizens following the Ilelish Pacification Campaign.
World Starport (St)
Bacelbron has a Class B Starport, a good quality installation which includes all the expected amenities including refined fuel for starships, brokerage services for passengers and cargo, and a variety of ship provisions. There is a shipyard capable of doing annual maintenance, overhauls and most kinds of repair, and construction of non-starships. Most ports of this classification have both a Highport and a Downport.
- This world is host to a Scout Base and is the site of the sector's IISS Contact and Liaison School
World Population (P)
Bacelbron has a population of 6,000,000 sophonts (millions).
- This is a Nonindustrial World, too small to support the complete chain of production of most goods from start to finish.
Linguistic Topography
The most commonly heard languages are:
- Anglic, one of the two official languages of the Imperium.
- Vilani, one of the two official languages of the Imperium.
World Technology Level (T)
Bacelbron possesses a Technology Level of TL–10 or TL-A in Hexadecimal Notation.
- Common Communication technologies for this TL include: Holovision, Personal Global Communications, and advanced Translators.
- Common Power Generation technologies for this TL include: Increasingly advanced fusion plants and advanced fuel cells.
- Common Transportation technologies for this TL include:
- Land & Water: Grav belts and maturing gravcraft.
- Air: Greatly improved hybrid grav-aircraft.
- Space: Improved interplanetary spacecraft (System Craft).
- FTL: Jump Drive-1.
World Government (G)
Bacelbron has a Balkanized Government. There is no central world government. The world has several governments competing for control of the world. These may be allies, cooperating, competitors, or at war with each other.
World Law (L)
Bacelbron has a moderate law level with laws covering many areas of government and interaction. These laws are simple enough that most people can act as their own advocate, though for serious issues a professional is recommended. Law enforcement officials will be present, but not in great numbers. All firearms, and anything more destructive, are typically regulated or prohibited.
Imperial Landed Nobility
Bacelbron, as a member world of the Third Imperium, holds the estate of an Imperial Landed Knight who acts as an Imperial representative to the world, and the fiefdom of a member of the Imperial Landed Nobility, who oversees affairs regarding the world at an Interstellar and Imperial level.

Later Historical Eras
Rebellion
Bacelbron, before the Rebellion, was the home of the sector's IISS Contact and Liaison School. While the IISS did an admirable job trying to maintain communications irrespective of factional interference, Lucan's policies regarding the Scouts in Zarushagar lead to defections from that service. (Lucan attempted to transfer all the IISS's sector assets to the Navy to support the Vengeance Fleet).
Bacelbron has become a sanctuary for those Scouts who wish to "voluntarily retire" from Lucan's IISS. Many of the defectors brought their families as well as many of their ships to their new home.
The Scouts of Bacelbron strongly influence the planetary government which wants to remain clear of any factional entanglements. The Scouts help them keep it that way, but welcome any visitors who come peacefully.
