Hyefteite is a poor, non-agricultural and pre-industrial hellworld with a population struggling to survive in an inhospitable environment.

  • Hellworlds often offer daily, and sometimes even hourly, life-threatening situations to their inhabitants.
  • This world is unable to produce quality foodstuffs and must import them.
  • It is a world working towards greater industrial capability, but currently lacks an adequate population to expand its industrial sector.
  • This world is part of the Aslan Hierate, as a single multiple-world clan dominate, in the Staai Subsector of Dark Nebula Sector.

History & Background (Dossier)

Hyefteite is a member of the Staai Main, a cluster and important regional trade route lying across parts of Canopus Sector, Dark Nebula Sector, and Magyar Sector. The border between the Solomani Confederation and the Aslan Hierate divides it into distinctive spinward and trailing regions.

Hyades Cluster

The huge stars of the Hyades Cluster, a few parsecs to trailing, are clearly visible to the naked eye from the surface of the world.

  • The tidal influence of the stars at the Cluster's core can be detected in the orbits of the system's planets and moons.
  • Despite their immense distance from the world, the Cluster's stars cause interference, strange tones and noises, and constant static on commo and sensors.

Other Data

Although the world is a part of the Aslan Hierate, Solomani Security keeps a close eye on things to ensure the security of the Solomani State and the well-being of its loyal citizens. Aslan are uniformly less likely to be cooperative with Solomani interests, but almost anyone could be a SolSec informant, passing on all sorts of useful information: some gain a reward or benefit for their actions, while others can be manipulated or coerced.

World Starport (St)

Hyefteite has a Class C Starport, an average quality installation which features amenities including unrefined fuel for starships, some brokerage services for passengers and cargo, and a variety of ship provisions. There is a shipyard capable of doing maintenance and other kinds of repair. Ports of this classification generally have only a downport, unless this is a trade port or system with an hostile environment mainworld.

World Population (P)

Hyefteite has a population of 60,000,000 sophonts (tens of millions).

  • The population almost entirely consists of Aslan.

Urbanization

Aslan architecture tends towards rounded forms and shapes. Structures typically feature large open spaces, concealed chambers, balconies, hidden passageways, and hideaways. Artistry is favored over efficiency in design – every Aslan building is different.

  • Even in mass-produced housing, residents will strive to make their territory uniquely theirs.

Linguistic Topography

The most commonly heard languages are:

World Technology Level (T)

Hyefteite possesses a Technology Level of TL–10 or TL-A in Hexadecimal Notation.

World Government (G)

Hyefteite is governed by an Impersonal Bureaucracy. The leadership of the government takes another form (democracy, dictatorship, oligarchy), but the bureaucracy dictates government policy and its execution. Government leadership is reduced to little more than figureheads and does not select the bureaucracy leadership or its members.

  • Note that this is a human interpretation of the feudal-based local Aslan government.

World Law (L)

Hyefteite has a moderate level with laws covering many areas of government and interaction. These laws are simple enough that most people can act as their own advocate, though for serious issues a professional is recommended. Law enforcement officials will be present, but not in great numbers. All firearms except shotguns, and anything more destructive, are typically regulated or prohibited.

Aslan Law

Criminal acts are rare but not unheard of in Aslan society. Crimes are different from the insults or slurs that provoke duels, and are classified into three categories: crimes of passion, crimes with victims, and crimes of honour.

  • Crimes of passion involve misbehavior prompted by temper, anger, or provocation. The accused is judged by the head of the family, pride, or clan involved.
  • Crimes with victims involve taking money or items of value, or violating the person of another for profit (kidnapping, terrorism, piracy). General practice is to have an impartial earleatrais consider the case and present findings.
  • Crimes of honour involve failure to observe the rituals established for social behaviour. Judgement is made by the pride or clan head, depending on the severity of the crime. Crimes of honour are the most serious in Aslan society; in practice, most are never tried, as a duel to the death occurs first.
