The Regal class Battlecruiser is a warship.
- It is a military ship and a Battlecruiser.
Description (Specifications)[edit]
This design is built around the most powerful spinal mounted meson gun available at TL–14. It also featured ten batteries of every other weapon system available except for repulsors and particle accelerators. They suffer from low agility, despite 6-G acceleration, and carry nearly no armor on their streamlined needle/wedge hull. This is a stereotypical battle cruiser flaw, the guns of the dreadnought with the armor of a tin can destroyer. Their Jump-4 ability allows them to keep pace with standard Imperial fleet maneuvers.
Image Repository[edit]
- A side schematic with a USP and basic performance data for the Regal class Battlecruiser.

General Description & Deck Plans[edit]

Basic Ship Characteristics[edit]
Following the Imperial Navy and IISS Universal Ship Profile and data, additional information is presented in the format shown here. The small craft factor indicates the number of squadrons (...of ten subcraft) carried on the ship. Tonnage on the universal ship profile is shown in kilotons (...thousands of tons) where necessary. [1]
| No. | Category | Remarks |
|---|---|---|
| 1. | Tonnage | The Regal class is constructed using a 75,000 Ton hull built in a Wedge configuration. The hull is fully streamlined, giving fair atmospheric performance that is further enhanced by its onboard gravitic systems.
|
| 2. | Crew | x807 personnel, including x200 Marines.
Accommodations
Accessible areas of the hull are fitted with grav plates and inertial compensators and have full life support and environmental systems.
|
| 3. | Performance | Propulsion:
The vessel mounts a Jump-4 drive, a Maneuver-5 drive, and a Power Plant-6, giving performance of Jump-4 and 5-G acceleration. The ship has an agility rating of 1 and an emergency agility of 5. The internal fuel tankage is sufficient for one Jump-4 and gives the power plant 4 weeks duration.
|
| 4. | Electronics | Adjacent to the bridge is a Model/8fib computer: no backup computer is installed.
|
| 5. | Hardpoints | x750 hardpoints.
|
| 6. | Armament | The normal weapons fit-out for it is:
|
| 7. | Defenses | The hull is plated, structurally reinforced, and built with secure bulkheads and compartments that give it a High Guard armor rating of 1.
|
| 8. | Craft | The vessel carries no subcraft. |
| 9. | Fuel Treatment | The vessel has internal fuel tankage of 34,500 Tons.
|
| 10. | Cost | The basic cost of the vessel is MCr61,971
|
| 11. | Construction Time | 200 weeks (46 months) as standard.
