Subsector N of Mendan Sector.
Description / Specifications[edit]
The trailing side of the subsector is an important and historically influential region of the Julian Protectorate.
Most of the rimward and trailing systems are a part of the Nudashiir Lagani, the great Lishun-Gashikan Main.
Subsector Summary: 1105[edit]
Lasla, subsector N of Mendan, contains 29 worlds with an estimated combined population of 108 billion, a per capita income of Cr6,565, and a total economy of BCr709,114. These worlds originate an interstellar trade of BCr3,212 through 26 starports (4 Class A, 8 Class B, 14 Class C, 0 Class D) employing 494,090 people. Driving this interstellar trade are four Agricultural (Ag) worlds, five Non-Agricultural (Na) worlds, no Pre-Agricultural (Pa) worlds, four Pre-Industrial (Pi) worlds, one Rich (Ri) world, and four Industrial (In) worlds. The governments in Lasla maintain eight Military bases, two Naval bases, and one Corsair base. The average technology level is 8 (with most between 5 and 11). The highest technology level is 14 at Lasla (Mendan 1634).
Lasla, subsector N of Mendan, contains 40 stars and 334 identified planets; 19 monostellar systems, nine binary systems, one trinary system, and no systems with four or more stars. 27 of the 29 systems (93%) have native gas giants. There are two Asteroid (As) belts, two Desert (De) worlds, no Garden (Ga) worlds, no Ice-capped (Ic) worlds, nine Poor (Po) worlds, four Vacuum (Va) worlds, and no Water (Wa) or Ocean (Oc) worlds.
Lasla has an estimated population of 108 billion distributed across seven High population (Hi) worlds, two Moderate population (Ph) worlds, 11 Non-industrial (Ni) worlds, four Low population (Lo) worlds, and one Barren (Ba) world. The highest population worlds are Lasla (Mendan 1634) and Oeghull (Mendan 1139). The population consists primarily of 4 sophont groups.

Julian Protectorate[edit]
The Julian Protectorate has jurisdiction over 22 worlds within the subsector, with an estimated combined population of 105 billion, a per capita income of Cr6,715, and a total economy of BCr705,130. These worlds originate an interstellar trade of BCr3,190 through 20 starports (4 Class A, 7 Class B, 9 Class C, 0 Class D) employing 491,585 people. Driving this interstellar trade are four Agricultural (Ag) worlds, four Non-Agricultural (Na) worlds, no Pre-Agricultural (Pa) worlds, three Pre-Industrial (Pi) worlds, one Rich (Ri) world, and three Industrial (In) worlds. The governments in the Julian Protectorate maintain seven Military bases and one Naval base within the subsector. The average technology level is 9 (with most between 6 and 11). The highest technology level is 14 at Lasla (Mendan 1634).
The Julian Protectorate has an estimated population of 105 billion within the subsector, distributed across six High population (Hi) worlds, one Moderate population (Ph) world, seven Non-industrial (Ni) worlds, three Low population (Lo) worlds, and one Barren (Ba) world. The highest population worlds are Lasla (Mendan 1634) and Oeghull (Mendan 1139). The population consists primarily of 4 sophont groups.
- The Julian Protectorate subsector capital of Lasla is Lasla (Mendan 1634). This is also the capital of the Pirbarish Starlane.
Non-Aligned, Vargr-dominated[edit]
There are six Non-Aligned Vargr-dominated worlds in Lasla with an estimated combined population of 3 billion.
Non-Aligned, Human-dominated[edit]
There is one Non-Aligned Human-dominated world in Lasla with an estimated population of 4 million.

The Nudashiir Lagani[edit]
A number of worlds in the subsector lie on the Nudashiir Lagani, the great Lishun-Gashikan Main.
- An eclectic mix of vessels, both Human and Vargr, work their ways along the Main, carrying vast amounts of goods and commodities between its member worlds.
A basic chart of the Nudashiir Lagani is shown, right.
- Worlds on the Main are highlighted in green.

Linguistic Topography: 1116[edit]
The following languages are among the most commonly encountered in this astrographic region:
- Anglic: Common to many human worlds.
- Julian Anglic: The most common variant in the sector, and an official language of the Julian Protectorate.
- Hhraki: Also known as Hhkarn; the primary language of the Hhkar. Hhkar travel frequently and may be found wandering much of Julian and adjacent space.
- Irilitok: The language family of the most populous Vargr phenotype and ethnic culture within the Julian Protectorate.
- Vuakedh: A common Irilitok language in the Domain of Antares.
- Ovaghoun: The language family of a populous Vargr phenotype and ethnic culture.
- Ikonaz Vargr: A form of the dominant Ovaghoun language in the Ikonaz Sphere (and so in the Rukadukaz Republic).
- Ikonaz Vilani: A variant of the above altered to suit Human vocalization.
- Oynprith: The ceremonial language used by Droyne communities throughout Charted Space.
- Vilani: Common to many human worlds. Many human dialects in the region have Vilani roots.
- Wawa-pakekeke-wawa: The common, precise and bureaucratic language of the Bwaps. Spoken on Bwap-dominated planets and by government functionaries on any world lucky enough to retain a dedicated Bwap workforce.
