Entrope is a high-population world with a billion or more sophonts in population size.
- It is a member of the Sword Worlds Confederation in the Querion Subsector of Spinward Marches Sector.
- This is a cold world with an overall climate that is at the lower temperature range of human-congruous sophont endurance.
- This is a "Puzzle" world designated as an Amber Zone. Caution is advised since the world has an environment, laws, customs, life forms, or other conditions that are not well understood and might be a danger to a visitor.
- Entrope is a member of the Spinward Main.
- It is one of the Entropic Worlds.
Description (Astrography & Planetology)[edit]
Stellar Data[edit]
Entrope is a binary star system.
- The primary is a yellow main sequence.
- The secondary is a red main sequence.
System Data[edit]
The worlds of the system have been surveyed. They consist of:
- The mainworld.
- x8 secondary rocky worlds.
- x1 planetoid belt.
Mainworld Data[edit]
Mainworld Size (S)[edit]
Entrope is a Meso World between 5,600km and 7,200km in diameter. The world has low gravity between 0.32G and 0.46G. The horizon will appear about 3.6km away.
Mainworld Atmosphere (A)[edit]
Entrope has a pressure of 0.10 to 0.42 atmospheres. The very thin pressures require a respirator or Oxygen Mask. TL–5 or more advanced survival gear is required to settle this world.
- It experiences very low temperatures.
Mainworld Hydrosphere (H)[edit]
Entrope has 55-65% of its surface covered by liquid water. It has significant large liquid bodies. Wilderness refueling is possible.
Mainworld Geography and Topography[edit]
No centrally held map of the world exists within AAB Library Data records.
(Blank map, predominantly watery world.)
Native Lifeforms[edit]
Abundant native life occupying every available ecological niche. Its metabolic functions drive the process of atmospheric renewal.
- Native lifeforms are cryophilic - they thrive in very low temperatures.
- They will rapidly die in temperatures humans find comfortable.
Feral Ninbz – a wolf-like tundra dweller – have established themselves on Entrope, introduced by the Sword Worlders.
History & Background (Dossier)[edit]
Entrope is a Puzzle World and is designated as an Amber Zone. It presents particular risks and dangers due to the environment or native life forms, laws or customs, or other conditions that are not well understood.
- Visitors are advised to act with caution.
Entrope has switched allegiance between the Sword Worlds Confederation and the Darrian Confederation several times in the last five centuries. As of 1105 the system was occupied by the forces of the Sword Worlds, having been captured in the Fourth Frontier War. Entrope's infrastructure was heavily damaged in the latest fighting and its starport was destroyed. Due to continuing internal struggles, rebuilding has been impeded.
Despite the widespread belief that the Entropic Wars were primarily between the Darrians and the Sword Worlders, the truth is that neither party ever had the strength to conquer Entrope in the face of united opposition. Unfortunately, Entrope has been a deeply fractured society ever since a civil war in 587. In each instance when Entrope has been invaded, most of the "invading" has been performed by native Entropians, with either the Darrians or the Sword Worlds merely tipping the scales.
World Starport (St)[edit]
Entrope has a Class E Starport, a frontier quality installation with few expected amenities. There is unrefined fuel for starships and a limited variety of ship provisions. There is no shipyard of any kind, but there may be parts and technical support for doing minor services and repair. Ports of this classification generally consist of a downport.
The starport is continually being repaired and just as continually sabotaged. Fuel and ship repair facilities may be available (usually are), but the uncertainty has prevented the Scouts from giving it a classification that reflects this.
World Population (P)[edit]
Entrope has a population of 10,000,000,000 sophonts (tens of billions).
- High Population Worlds like this tend to have huge consumer markets.
- The population have Imperial, Sword Worlder, and Daryen ancestry.
Linguistic Topography[edit]
The following languages are most commonly heard:
- Anglic, one of the two official languages of the Imperium.
- Sagamaal, the language of the Sword Worlds.
- Te-Zlodh, the language of the Daryens.
World Technology Level (T)[edit]
Entrope possesses a Technology Level of TL–11 or TL-B in Hexadecimal Notation.
- Common Communication technologies for this TL include: Holovision, Personal Global Communications, and advanced Translators.
- Common Power Generation technologies for this TL include: Increasingly advanced fusion plants and advanced fuel cells.
- Common Transportation technologies for this TL include:
- Land, Water & Air: Personal G-Tubes and advanced gravcraft.
- Space: Advanced interplanetary spacecraft (System Craft).
- FTL: Jump Drive-2.
World Government (G)[edit]
Entrope is governed by a Charismatic Dictatorship. Charismatic governments justify their ability to rule by simply asserting their right to rule. Charismatic dictatorships are typically young governments, coming as a recent change, and rely on the leader(s) to supply head of government.
World Law (L)[edit]
Entrope has an extreme law level which covers every area of interaction. Laws are complex, detailed, and difficult to understand. Every interaction with the government requires an Advocate. Law enforcement is omnipresent and strict. Legal proceeding can take months to years to resolve and may involve dozens of people. A few worlds with this law level may be a Red Zone and others will be an Amber Zone. All objects specifically manufactured as weapons are typically regulated or prohibited (with no exception for private residences; visiting starships are only protected so long as they stay within designated starports and approach corridors).

Later Historical Eras[edit]
History: Era: Rebellion[edit]
"When elephants fight, it is the grass that suffers."
The wars between the Darrians and the Sword Worlds had left this place in pretty sorry shape by the Civil War period. The outsystem is littered with the debris of past battles, and the local infrastructure had been shattered so many times that the natives had pretty much given up at trying to keep up with upkeep. The populace was so desperate in the wake of the world's final liberation from the Sword Worlds that it installed a popular dictatorship in an effort to effect rebuilding.
Entrope's current leader is Major Kerin Yoldat, a war hero who was responsible for the coup that swayed Entrope's ground forces to the Darrian side at the time of the invasion that retook the planet. Major Yoldat is still investigating former collaborators and Sword Worlds immigrants, expelling or imprisoning some of them. Weapons are not actually outlawed, but it takes a time consuming background check to get a permit to carry one.
Reconstruction has been very successful, but the dictatorship has become a hereditary post for the Yoldat family. Resistance to this increasingly unnecessary regime is so far muted, but widespread.
History: Era: Milieu 1120[edit]
As of the end of the Fifth Frontier War, Etrope became a member of the Darrian Confederation and is now ruled by Major Kerin Yoldat, a war hero who led the coup that threw out the Sword Worlders.
History: Era: Milieu 1248[edit]
Entrope (0720) is a member of the Darrian Confederation, but is also the home of the headquarters and offices of the League of Spinward States. As a result, its infrastructure and starport were massively improved, and a league naval base was established. At this point, Entrope is a hotbed of political activity, and significant delegations from League members and surrounding powers are common sights. Entrope's rulers have been careful to keep the League administration and bureaucracy separate from the world government. This is made much easier since the world’s capital is located well away from the main starport, and the League headquarters (and the naval base) are all built in and around the starport, with many offices located in the high port. The world's capital is now served by a secondary starport that handles a high load of traffic in its own right.
