System Data[edit]

The worlds of the system have been surveyed. They consist of:

Mainworld Data[edit]

The "Aes" designation is a common Aekhu descriptor assigned to fluidic worlds.

Mainworld Size (S)[edit]

Aes Garghgha is a Big World between 13,600km and 15,200km in diameter. The world has a standard gravity between 1G and 1.3G. The horizon will appear about 5.4km away. Vessels with only 1G of thrust should avoid landing on this world.

Mainworld Atmosphere (A)[edit]

Aes Garghgha has an Insidious Atmosphere which requires the use of a Hostile Environment Suit or Vacc Suit, but extreme conditions cause the corrosive effects to defeat any personal protective measures in a few hours. TL–10 or more advanced survival gear is required to settle this world.

Mainworld Hydrosphere (H)[edit]

Aes Garghgha has 45-55% of its surface covered by a fluid other than water. Wilderness refueling is not possible. Water for the inhabitants needs to be imported and extensively recycled. These worlds may be Hell Worlds.

  • This surface fluid may be ammonia, methane, hydrocarbons, or other exotic liquids depending on the local temperature and environment.

Mainworld Geography and Topography[edit]

No centrally held map of the world exists within AAB Library Data records.

History & Background (Dossier)[edit]

Comp-Prog-Dav-R-Deitrick-Starter-Trav-Page-16 16-July-2018a.jpg

Aes Garghgha is a member of the Zurekhaz, a small but important trade route with a dark reputation as a hub of the slave trade.

  • High cargo capacity, low jump rating vessels move among its systems, carrying vast amounts of goods and commodities between its member worlds.

  • Worlds that are members of the Zurekhaz are highlighted in tan.

World Starport (St)[edit]

Aes Garghgha has a Class B Starport, a good quality installation which includes all the expected amenities including refined fuel for starships, brokerage services for passengers and cargo, and a variety of ship provisions. There is a shipyard capable of doing annual maintenance, overhauls and most kinds of repair, and construction of non-starships. Most ports of this classification have both a Highport and a Downport.

The port has extensive facilities for the secure storage and transfer of captives. These are generally referred to as slave pens.

World Population (P)[edit]

Aes Garghgha has a population of 60,000,000 sophonts (tens of millions).

  • The population entirely consists of Vargr.

Urbanization[edit]

Vargr cities are lively and chaotic, full of garish colours and loud noises. Streets are packed and buildings press together. Vehicle traffic is fast and chaotic; the accident rate is low only because of superior Vargr reflexes. Zoning codes are rare, and districts jumble together.

World Technology Level (T)[edit]

Aes Garghgha possesses a Technology Level of TL–11 or TL-B in Hexadecimal Notation.

World Government (G)[edit]

Aes Garghgha is governed by a Representative Democracy where government leadership is by representatives elected by eligible voters. What determines an eligible voter varies. The representatives determine policy, including selecting members of the bureaucracy. There can be referenda, votes by eligible voters on specific subjects.

World Law (L)[edit]

Aes Garghgha has a moderate law level with laws covering many areas of government and interaction. These laws are simple enough that most people can act as their own advocate, though for serious issues a professional is recommended. Law enforcement officials will be present, but not in great numbers. Light assault weapons, and anything more destructive, are typically regulated or prohibited.

Trade Data[edit]

  • Importance: 2 (ordinary)

World Economy[edit]

  • Resources: D (very abundant)
  • Labor: 6 (millions)
  • Infrastructure: C (very extensive)
  • Efficiency: +1 (average)

World Culture[edit]

  • Heterogenity: 5 (harmonious)
  • Acceptance: 9 (friendly)
  • Strangeness: 3 (somewhat typical)
  • Symbols: 9 (somewhat abstract)
