History & Background (Dossier)[edit]
The Zurekhaz is particularly noted as a center of slave trading. Its ports have facilities for the secure storage and transfer of captives, generally referred to as slave pens.
- Some of these facilities are sumptious quarters designed to accommodate high status or high value captives or those being held for ransom.
- Many are secure, reasonably appointed living areas, provided as part of an indenture agreement.
- The majority are squalid cells where unwilling captives are held in miserable conditions.
Sales and transfers usually take place within the facilities, which are heavily guarded at all times and have many administrative staff. They often have a large market lying just beyond their perimeter, providing everything from nutritional supplies and medical care to sumptious tailored outfits - everything you could need for maximizing the return on your sale or improving your new purchase.
The origins of the route's name are lost in the mists of time.
