Subsector L of Alpha Crucis Sector.

Description (Specifications)[edit]

This subsector contains 31 worlds, all within the borders of the Solomani Confederation. Much of the subsector was colonised after the formation of the Solomani Autonomous Region but a few settlements date back to earlier expeditions. All but nine worlds are Confederation member states.

Galloway's Commonwealth of Gadjick claims sovereignty over Potena, Serpa and Razein, and disputes the Solomani Confederation's claim to Duni.

Subsector Summary: 1116[edit]

Addison, subsector L of Alpha Crucis, contains 31 worlds with an estimated combined population of 4 billion, a per capita income of Cr6,514, and a total economy of BCr27,125. These worlds originate an interstellar trade of BCr106 through 25 starports (2 Class A, 10 Class B, 9 Class C, 4 Class D) employing 12,955 people. Driving this interstellar trade are one Agricultural (Ag) world, six Non-Agricultural (Na) worlds, four Pre-Agricultural (Pa) worlds, six Pre-Industrial (Pi) worlds, two Rich (Ri) worlds, and one Industrial (In) world. The governments in Addison maintain four Naval bases and three Military bases. The average technology level is 10 (with most between 7 and 12). The highest technology level is 14 at Chila (Alpha Crucis 2525), Addison (Alpha Crucis 2624), Yazuz B (Alpha Crucis 2823), Lomin (Alpha Crucis 3027), Wettin (Alpha Crucis 3124), and Potena (Alpha Crucis 3129).

Addison, subsector L of Alpha Crucis, contains 44 stars and 351 identified planets; 18 monostellar systems, 13 binary systems, no trinary systems, and no systems with four or more stars. 25 of the 31 systems (80%) have native gas giants. There are no Asteroid (As) belts, no Desert (De) worlds, one Garden (Ga) world, no Ice-capped (Ic) worlds, two Poor (Po) worlds, nine Vacuum (Va) worlds, and three Water (Wa) or Ocean (Oc) worlds.

Addison has an estimated population of 4 billion distributed across one High population (Hi) world, five Moderate population (Ph) worlds, 11 Non-industrial (Ni) worlds, 12 Low population (Lo) worlds, and no Barren (Ba) worlds. The highest population world is Addison (Alpha Crucis 2624). The population consists primarily of 1 sophont group.

Solomani Confederation[edit]

The Solomani Confederation has jurisdiction over 22 worlds in the subsector with an estimated combined population of 2 billion, a per capita income of Cr2,777, and a total economy of BCr5,856. These worlds originate an interstellar trade of BCr23 through 17 starports (1 Class A, 6 Class B, 8 Class C, 2 Class D) employing 2,945 people. Driving this interstellar trade are no Agricultural (Ag) worlds, four Non-Agricultural (Na) worlds, four Pre-Agricultural (Pa) worlds, four Pre-Industrial (Pi) worlds, one Rich (Ri) world, and no Industrial (In) worlds. The governments in the Solomani Confederation maintain three Naval bases and three Military bases within the subsector. The average technology level is 10 (with most between 8 and 12). The highest technology level is 14 at Chila (Alpha Crucis 2525), Yazuz B (Alpha Crucis 2823), and Lomin (Alpha Crucis 3027).

The Solomani Confederation has an estimated population of 2 billion within the subsector, distributed across no High population (Hi) worlds, five Moderate population (Ph) worlds, seven Non-industrial (Ni) worlds, ten Low population (Lo) worlds, and no Barren (Ba) worlds. The highest population worlds are Pezzoz (Alpha Crucis 3225), Tihiin (Alpha Crucis 2822), Varax (Alpha Crucis 2727), Uuno (Alpha Crucis 2930), and Dember (Alpha Crucis 2625). The population consists primarily of 1 sophont group.

Non-Aligned, Human-dominated[edit]

There are nine Non-Aligned Human-dominated worlds in Addison with an estimated combined population of 2 billion.

History & Background (Dossier)[edit]

Most of the worlds in Addison are newer colonies, primarily settled after the creation of the Solomani Autonomous Region. A few date back to earlier expeditions.

  • The Commonwealth of Gadjick claims sovereignty over Potena, Serpa and Razein.
  • In 1086 the Commonwealth fought a brief and ultimately unsuccessful war with the Confederation over control of Duni. Despite this outcome, the Commonwealth continues to dispute Confederation claims to the system. The fact that the Confederation treats Duni as its subsector capital complicates the matter further.

Security & Defense[edit]

The worlds of the region are patrolled by the Solomani Navy. It defends Confederation territory, protects Confederation interests, suppresses piracy, and ensures interstellar trade and commerce.

The Solomani Navy operates couriers and packet ships to carry communications and mail within the Confederation. Some of the routes they make use of predate the founding of the Solomani Autonomous Region in the early 8th Century, while others have more modern origins, being established following the Solomani Rim War and Solomani independence.

  • Multiple communications routes cross the subsector.
