Agravaine is a non-agricultural and nonindustrial vacuum world, which warrants hazardous environment precautions.

  • Life in a vacuum requires great discipline. After all, it only takes one forgotten seal on a vacuum suit to spell death. Those who survive tend to be very methodically-minded and attentive to small detail.
  • It requires extensive imports of outside technology to maintain a modern, star-faring society.
  • It is unable to produce quality foodstuffs and must import them.
  • It has few prospects for economic development.
  • It is a member of the Union of Garth in the Taemerlyk Subsector of Far Frontiers Sector.

Description (Astrography & Planetology)[edit]

Stellar Data[edit]

Agravaine is a binary star system.

  • The primary is a red main sequence.
  • The secondary is a white dwarf stellar remnant.
Agravaine has two stars in the star system.

System Data[edit]

The worlds of the system have been surveyed. They consist of:

Mainworld Data[edit]

Mainworld Size (S)[edit]

Agravaine is a Meso World between 7,200km and 8,800km in diameter. The world has a standard gravity between 0.4G and 0.57G. The horizon will appear about 4km away.

Mainworld Atmosphere (A)[edit]

Agravaine has a pressure of less than 0.001 atmospheres which requires the use of a Vacc Suit. TL–8 or more advanced survival gear is required to settle this world.

Vacuum World 04.jpg

Mainworld Hydrosphere (H)[edit]

Agravaine has no free-standing water or ice on the surface. Wilderness refueling isn't possible on this world. Water for the inhabitants needs to be imported and extensively recycled. These worlds are classified Desert World or a Hell World depending on their atmosphere.

Mainworld Geography and Topography[edit]

No centrally held map of the world exists within AAB Library Data records.

History & Background (Dossier)[edit]

Comp-Prog-Dav-R-Deitrick-Starter-Trav-Page-16 16-July-2018a.jpg

In 695, The Protectorate granted independence to its colony worlds in Taemerlyk Subsector, which today form the Union of Garth.

Agravaine is the furthest coreward system within the Union on Uldor's Reach. It serves as a hub for traffic bound to Quitalos, a Protectorate system.

World Starport (St)[edit]

Agravaine has a Class A Starport, an excellent quality installation which includes all the expected amenities including refined fuel for starships, brokerage services for passengers and cargo, and a variety of ship provisions. There is a shipyard capable of doing annual maintenance, overhauls and other kinds of repair, and construction of both starships and non-starships. Most ports of this classification have both a Highport and a Downport.

World Population (P)[edit]

Agravaine has a population of 7,000,000 sophonts (millions).

Linguistic Topography[edit]

World Technology Level (T)[edit]

Agravaine possesses a Technology Level of TL–10 or TL-A in Hexadecimal Notation.

World Government (G)[edit]

Agravaine is governed by a Charismatic Dictatorship. Charismatic governments justify their ability to rule by simply asserting their right to rule. Charismatic dictatorships are typically young governments, coming as a recent change, and rely on the leader(s) to supply head of government.

  • The Union of Garth is governed by the Parliament of Industry on Garth. This governmental body is composed of the various planets' leading merchants, technologists, and corporate executives.

World Law (L)[edit]

Agravaine has a high law level with laws covering many areas of interactions of people, corporations, and the government. A few worlds with this law level may be Amber Zones. Any interaction with the judicial system requires an Advocate trained in the local legal system. Law enforcement is present almost everywhere, either as people or via technology. Legal proceedings can take weeks to months to resolve and involve a dozen or more people. All objects specifically manufactured as weapons are typically regulated or prohibited (outside private residences or visiting starships).

Trade Data[edit]

  • Importance: 1 (ordinary)

World Economy[edit]

  • Resources: D (very abundant)
  • Labor: 5 (hundreds of thousands)
  • Infrastructure: 5 (limited)
  • Efficiency: +2 (good)

World Culture[edit]

The world lies within the Zhodani Shadow, a region strongly influenced by the society and culture of the Zhodani Consulate.

  • Heterogenity: 7 (discordant)
  • Acceptance: 7 (aloof)
  • Strangeness: 6 (very distinct)
  • Symbols: B (abstract)
