Alenzar is a ring of many small worldlets (planetoids AKA an "asteroid belt"), not capable of retaining an atmosphere or water, and nonindustrial in nature.
- These worldlets warrant hazardous environment precautions.
- Life in a vacuum requires great discipline. After all, it only takes one forgotten seal on a vacuum suit to spell death. Those who survive tend to be very methodically-minded and attentive to small detail.
- The worldlets require extensive imports of outside technology to maintain a modern, star-faring society. Having to import most manufactured and high tech goods drives the price up for these items at this world.
- It is a client state of the Third Imperium in the Reidain Subsector of Foreven Sector.
- Alenzar is a member of the Spinward Main.
- It lies on the Sisters' Reach.
- The largest planetoid of this Beltworld contains the colony of Alenzar.
- The Beltworld of this system is usually known as the Alenzar Belt as a result.
Description (Astrography & Planetology)
Stellar Data
Alenzar has a solitary primary star.
- It is a turbulent red giant.

System Data
The worlds of the system have been partially surveyed. They consist of:
- The mainworld, a beltworld named the Alenzar Belt orbiting towards the inner edge of the habitable zone.
- It contains the colony of Alenzar within the largest planetoid.
- A single planetary body named Chamax, orbiting in the prime region of the habitable zone and which once supported a native civilization.
- x1 planetoid belt.
- x3 gas giants.
Mainworld Data
The mainworld of this system is a Beltworld or Asteroid Belt: the colony of Alenzar is built into the largest planetoid.
- The Beltworld of the system is usually known as the Alenzar Belt as a result.
The belt orbits towards the inner edge of its star's habitable zone.
- It receives relatively high levels of stellar energy.
Mainworld Size (S)
Alenzar is an Asterioid Belt or Planetoid Belt consisting of a few very large objects with diameters of hundreds of kilometers, thousands of bodies of a few kilometers in diameter, and millions of smaller objects. Asteroid Belt is used when the belt is the mainworld of a system. Planetoid Belt refers to any non-mainworld belt within a system.
Mainworld Atmosphere (A)
None of the bodies within the Alenzar belt retain an atmosphere.
- The belt is in vacuum conditions, requiring the use of a Vacc Suit.
- TL–8 or more advanced survival gear is required to settle this world.
Mainworld Hydrosphere (H)
The Alenzar belt contains no icy bodies. No belt objects are known to have frozen volatiles on their surfaces.
- Wilderness refueling is not possible within the belt.
- Water for the inhabitants is imported and is extensively recycled.
Mainworld Geography and Topography
No centrally held chart of the belt exists within AAB Library Data records.

History & Background (Dossier)
Alenzar is an Imperial Client State located on the Spinward Main in Foreven Sector, just beyond the border of the Spinward Marches. It is known for its abundant material wealth and is a popular magnet for Belters. The system is controlled by InStarSpec, which maintains a major corporate office in the outpost. The system was settled originally by company employees.
- The colony has expanded somewhat since the early days of Alenzar's development, but the class C starport is still considerably larger than is needed by the colonists.
- Traffic into the system is small in volume, consisting mostly of company ships and a few prospectors searching for prized Cerulene Crystals.
- It has been discovered that the planet Chamax, now devoid of land-based life, once supported a sophont civilization.
The system's huge primary star causes interference, strange tones and noises, and heavy static on commo and sensors.
World Starport (St)
Alenzar has a Class C Starport, an average quality installation which features amenities including unrefined fuel for starships, some brokerage services for passengers and cargo, and a variety of ship provisions. There is a shipyard capable of doing maintenance and other kinds of repair. Ports of this classification generally have only a downport, unless this is a trade port or system with an hostile environment mainworld.
World Population (P)
Alenzar has a population of 50,000 sophonts (tens of thousands).
- This is a Nonindustrial World, too small to support the complete chain of production of most goods from start to finish.
Urbanization
Alenzar is built into the largest of a group of planetoids orbiting very close to the system's red giant star.
Linguistic Topography
The following languages are most commonly heard:
- Anglic, one of the two official languages of the Imperium.
- Vilani, one of the two official languages of the Imperium.
World Technology Level (T)
Alenzar possesses a Technology Level of TL–9.
- Common Communication technologies for this TL include: Fiber optics and satellite communication and data networks.
- Common Power Generation technologies for this TL include: Early fusion power.
- Common Transportation technologies for this TL include:
- Land: Ultra high-speed trains and early grav vehicles.
- Water: High efficiency sailcraft, multihulled seacraft, improved artificial gills.
- Air: Tiltrotorcraft, exotic VTOL's, PARWIG, and rocket-assisted suborbitals.
- Space: SSTO spacecraft, early military spacecraft (System Craft), and interstellar STL starships
- FTL: Prototype Jump Drive-1.
World Government (G)
Alenzar is governed by a Corporate Polity, having a single corporation with a typical corporate structure as a government. Essentially, this is a "company town" (or world). The typical corporate-run world usually has a single purpose. Examples include mining, agriculture, or other kinds of resource extraction. But rather than a simple base of operations, there are facilities for housing workers and their families, including hospitals, schools, and other infrastructure. How, or if, the children of the workers are incorporated into the workforce varies with companies. The corporation running the world may be a subsidiary of a larger interstellar corporation.
The world is controlled by InStarSpec.
World Law (L)
Alenzar has a moderate law level with laws covering many areas of government and interaction. These laws are simple enough that most people can act as their own advocate, though for serious issues a professional is recommended. Law enforcement officials will be present, but not in great numbers. Light assault weapons, and anything more destructive, are typically regulated or prohibited.
World Timeline
