Dhaekneng does not meet the criteria for any standard classification.
- It is a member of the Opposition Alliance in the Mersol Subsector of Meshan Sector, which is part of the Vargr Extents.
- This world is a "Twilight Zone World", a planet that is tidally-locked to its star. It has a hot side that permanently faces the star, a cold side that permanently faces away, and a narrow twilight zone in-between.
- This world-system has a Military Base, usually associated with military ground forces, which may be located on or off-world.
Description (Astrography & Planetology)
Dhaekneng has a solitary primary star.
- It is a red main sequence.
System Data
The worlds of the system have been surveyed. They consist of:
- The mainworld.
- x8 secondary rocky worlds.
- x1 planetoid belt.
- x1 gas giant.
Mainworld Data
Mainworld Size (S)
Dhaekneng is a Meso World between 12,000km and 13,500km in diameter. The world has a standard gravity between 0.8G and 1.1G. The horizon will appear about 5.1km away. Vessels with 1G of thrust should check with local starport authorities before attempting to land using emergency power.
Mainworld Atmosphere (A)
Dhaekneng has a pressure of 2.5 or greater atmospheres. A Dense & High Pressure Atmosphere typically requires no survival gear under many conditions. Pressure at or below sea level is too great to support life but the atmosphere may be breathable at higher altitudes. TL–5 or more advanced survival gear is required to settle this world.
Mainworld Hydrosphere (H)
Dhaekneng has 75-85% of its surface covered by liquid water or ice heavily tainted with other substances, which makes it dangerous, corrosive, or toxic. Wilderness refueling will be difficult. Water for the inhabitants needs to be imported and extensively recycled. These worlds may be Hell Worlds.
- The water on the surface may be unsuitable for use or consumption without extensive filtering and purification.
- Refining for fuel may cause issues with shipboard purification plants.
Mainworld Geography and Topography
No centrally held map of the world exists within AAB Library Data records.
History & Background (Dossier)
World Starport (St)
Dhaekneng has a Class C Starport, an average quality installation which features amenities including unrefined fuel for starships, some brokerage services for passengers and cargo, and a variety of ship provisions. There is a shipyard capable of doing maintenance and other kinds of repair. Ports of this classification generally have only a downport, unless this is a trade port or system with an hostile environment mainworld.
World Population (P)
Dhaekneng has a population of 30,000,000 sophonts (tens of millions).
- The population largely consists of Vargr.
- A few humans may also be encountered.
World Technology Level (T)
Dhaekneng possesses a Technology Level of TL–8.
- Common Communication technologies for this TL include: Fiber optics, improved telephones, and satellite communication and data networks.
- Common Power Generation technologies for this TL include: Improved geothermal and improved batteries.
- Common Transportation technologies for this TL include:
- Land: Advanced automobiles.
- Water: Triphibians and early artificial gills.
- Air: Improved helicopters and hypersonic jets.
- Space: Space shuttles, early space stations, and improved interplanetary spacecraft (System Craft).
World Government (G)
Dhaekneng is governed by a Feudal Technocracy. Society divides itself based on the technical requirements of the society. Each of these functions are granted as a fief to an individual or group. Leadership of these fiefs determines the head of the government.
World Law (L)
Dhaekneng has a moderate level with laws covering many areas of government and interaction. These laws are simple enough that most people can act as their own advocate, though for serious issues a professional is recommended. Law enforcement officials will be present, but not in great numbers. Personal concealable firearms, and anything more destructive, are typically regulated or prohibited.
Trade Data
- Importance: -1 (unimportant)
World Economy
- Resources: B (abundant)
- Labor: 6 (millions)
- Infrastructure: 7 (generally available)
- Efficiency: -3 (poor)
World Culture
- Heterogenity: 5 (harmonious)
- Acceptance: 6 (aloof)
- Strangeness: 3 (somewhat typical)
