Arghavor is an icy, low-population vacuum world, with a population less than 10,000 sophonts in population size, warranting hazardous environment precautions.

Description (Astrography & Planetology)

The world does not orbit a star.

System Data

The world is not part of a star system. It consists of:

Mainworld Data

Mainworld Size (S)

Arghavor is a Big World between 13,600km and 15,200km in diameter. The world has a standard gravity between 1G and 1.3G. The horizon will appear about 5.4km away. Vessels with only 1G of thrust should avoid landing on this world.

Mainworld Atmosphere (A)

Arghavor has a pressure of less than 0.001 atmospheres which requires the use of a Vacc Suit. TL–8 or more advanced survival gear is required to settle this world.

Mainworld Hydrosphere (H)

Arghavor has 35-45% of its surface covered by liquid water. There will be a number of small seas or one larger body of water. Wilderness refueling is possible.

Mainworld Geography and Topography

No centrally held map of the world exists within AAB Library Data records.

History & Background (Dossier)

Arghavor is surrounded by navigation / emergency buoys, precisely locating the world in relation to the buoy's position.

  • The buoys form a huge sphere around the world, with some buoys lying as far as 10,000 AU distant.
  • The buoys provide emergency assistance to vessels that have emerged from jump, perhaps as a result of a navigation error, at a great distance from the Jump Bridge facilities: they contain supplies of oxygen, food, and water.
  • Each buoy automatically transmits a signal to the central Bridge facilities if it is activated by communications or is physically accessed.

World Starport (St)

Arghavor has a Class B Starport, a good quality installation which includes all the expected amenities including refined fuel for starships, brokerage services for passengers and cargo, and a variety of ship provisions. There is a shipyard capable of doing annual maintenance, overhauls and most kinds of repair, and construction of non-starships. Most ports of this classification have both a Highport and a Downport.

World Population (P)

Arghavor has a population of 7,000 sophonts (thousands).

  • This is a Low Population World and the population would be too low to sustain itself without a little outside assistance. This may represent the home base of a sizable but mostly transient population such as the base of a major starship expedition, the last generation of a dying colony, the first generation of a new colony, or a large outpost that will probably evolve into a colony if not stopped.
  • The population entirely consists of Vargr.

World Technology Level (T)

Arghavor possesses a Technology Level of TL–12 or TL-C in Hexadecimal Notation.

World Government (G)

Arghavor is governed by a Feudal Technocracy. Society divides itself based on the technical requirements of the society. Each of these functions are granted as a fief to an individual or group. Leadership of these fiefs determines the head of the government.

World Law (L)

Arghavor has an extreme law level which covers every area of interaction. Laws are complex, detailed, and difficult to understand. Every interaction with the government requires an Advocate. Law enforcement is omnipresent and strict. Legal proceeding can take months to years to resolve and may involve dozens of people. A few worlds with this law level may be a Red Zone and others will be an Amber Zone. All objects specifically manufactured as weapons are typically regulated or prohibited (with no exception for private residences; visiting starships are only protected so long as they stay within designated starports and approach corridors).
