- The buoys form a huge sphere around the world, with some buoys lying as far as 10,000 AU distant.
- The buoys provide emergency assistance to vessels that have emerged from jump, perhaps as a result of a navigation error, at a great distance from the Jump Bridge facilities: they contain supplies of oxygen, food, and water.
- Each buoy automatically transmits a signal to the central Bridge facilities if it is activated by communications or is physically accessed.
World Starport (St)
Arghavor has a Class B Starport, a good quality installation which includes all the expected amenities including refined fuel for starships, brokerage services for passengers and cargo, and a variety of ship provisions. There is a shipyard capable of doing annual maintenance, overhauls and most kinds of repair, and construction of non-starships. Most ports of this classification have both a Highport and a Downport.

Law enforcement is omnipresent and strict. Legal proceeding can take months to years to resolve and may involve dozens of people. A few worlds with this law level may be a Red Zone and others will be an Amber Zone. All objects specifically manufactured as weapons are typically regulated or prohibited (with no exception for private residences; visiting starships are only protected so long as they stay within designated starports and approach corridors).

- ca -250,000: The Ancients were active within the region, transplanting the Vargr onto Lair.
- -9235: the Vilani discover jump technology. A few explorers and settlers begin to pioneer the region.
- -4045 to -2204: the Ziru Sirka claims a few rimward worlds and establishes a firm border. The Windhorn Rift and the absence of any significant Mains discourages large-scale Vilani expansion into the region.
- -3810: the Vargr discover jump technology and begin an era of expansion.
- -2400s: Vargr raiding into human-dominated areas significantly increases. This becomes known as the Vargr Pillaging.
- ca -1700: Vargr rimward expansion gradually ceases: the border between human and Vargr space stabilizes.
