Description (Specifications)[edit]

The Sandworlds has also been known as the Guukiinmile Subsector.

Subsector Summary: 1116[edit]

The Sandworlds, subsector A of Star's End, contains 26 worlds with an estimated combined population of 75 billion, a per capita income of Cr4,959, and a total economy of BCr374,813. These worlds originate an interstellar trade of BCr3,349 through 18 starports (5 Class A, 4 Class B, 9 Class C, 0 Class D) employing 390,310 people. Driving this interstellar trade are four Agricultural (Ag) worlds, no Non-Agricultural (Na) worlds, four Pre-Agricultural (Pa) worlds, one Pre-Industrial (Pi) world, one Rich (Ri) world, and two Industrial (In) worlds. The governments in The Sandworlds maintain three Naval bases and two Military bases. The average technology level is 7 (with most between 3 and 11). The highest technology level is 14 at Iigigsu (Star's End 0201).

The Sandworlds, subsector A of Star's End, contains 37 stars and 292 identified planets; 16 monostellar systems, nine binary systems, one trinary system, and no systems with four or more stars. 22 of the 26 systems (84%) have native gas giants. There are two Asteroid (As) belts, one Desert (De) world, two Garden (Ga) worlds, one Ice-capped (Ic) world, three Poor (Po) worlds, three Vacuum (Va) worlds, and one Water (Wa) or Ocean (Oc) world.

The Sandworlds has an estimated population of 75 billion distributed across five High population (Hi) worlds, one Moderate population (Ph) world, nine Non-industrial (Ni) worlds, five Low population (Lo) worlds, and five Barren (Ba) worlds. The highest population worlds are Ikamki (Star's End 0806), Khaka (Star's End 0208), and Legumenkig (Star's End 0408). The population consists primarily of 2 sophont groups.

History & Background (Dossier)[edit]

The Hegemony Communications Service operates between worlds in this subsector.

Polity Listing: 1116[edit]

The following polities can be found within this subsector:

  • Julian Protectorate
    • Hegemony of Lorean
      • The concept of Arzulan Hegemony predates the official Hegemony of Lorean by around a century, leading to some occasional confusion in historical records.
      • There are an endless number of pro-Hegemony secret societies within the government, which tend to fight each other (in a restrained fashion) when they aren't attacking anti-Hegemonio subversives (with wild abandon, cold efficiency, or unleashed ferocity, depending on the nature of the group).

Linguistic Topography: 1105[edit]

The following languages are among the most commonly used within this astrographic region:

  • Anglic: One of the two official languages of the Third Imperium and common outside its borders.
    • The Julian variant is most commonly heard in this region.
  • Arzulan: A series of largely related languages granted state recognition by the Lorean Hegemony.
    • Various other, local languages may be heard on Lorean worlds, but have no government support.
  • Irilitok: The primary language family of the region's Vargr.
  • Raxkiir: A language developed by clients of the K'kree, a heavily derived variant of !kee suitable for humanoid use. It is commonly used by those trading with K'kree interests, as well as client races acting on behalf of the Two Thousand Worlds.
  • Suedzuk: The primary language family of a Vargr cultural region in relative proximity.
    • Evrgoer: The most common Suedzuk trade tongue in the region.
  • Vilani: One of the two official languages of the Third Imperium, and widespread beyond its borders.
  • Wawa-pakekeke-wawa: The common, precise and bureaucratic language of the Bwaps. Spoken on Bwap-dominated planets and by government functionaries on any world lucky enough to retain a dedicated Bwap workforce.
