Subsector O of Core Sector, deep within the Third Imperium.
Description[edit]
This subsector is noted for the number of Amber Zones declared over its systems. All of them are due to the activity of Chanestin separatists. Even after over 1,100 years of Imperial citizenship, the descendants of the Chanestin Kingdom maintain their cultural heritage and find it difficult to fully assimilate to the Imperial mainstream.
The Dunea Subsector is defended by 132nd Fleet.
Subsector Summary: 1116[edit]
Dunea, subsector O of Core, contains 39 worlds with an estimated combined population of 40 billion, a per capita income of Cr3,773, and a total economy of BCr154,663. These worlds originate an interstellar trade of BCr12,530 through 36 starports (3 Class A, 23 Class B, 4 Class C, 6 Class D) employing 1,960,210 people. Driving this interstellar trade are seven Agricultural (Ag) worlds, three Non-Agricultural (Na) worlds, one Pre-Agricultural (Pa) world, eight Pre-Industrial (Pi) worlds, four Rich (Ri) worlds, and one Industrial (In) world. The governments in Dunea maintain nine Naval bases, eight Scout bases, and one Way station. The average technology level is 10 (with most between 7 and 12). The highest technology level is 15 at Uundizi (Core 2036) and Kiir (Core 2136).
Dunea, subsector O of Core, contains 58 stars and 436 identified planets; 21 monostellar systems, 17 binary systems, one trinary system, and no systems with four or more stars. 27 of the 39 systems (69%) have native gas giants. There are no Asteroid (As) belts, three Desert (De) worlds, two Garden (Ga) worlds, one Ice-capped (Ic) world, six Poor (Po) worlds, two Vacuum (Va) worlds, and three Water (Wa) or Ocean (Oc) worlds.
Dunea has an estimated population of 40 billion distributed across four High population (Hi) worlds, four Moderate population (Ph) worlds, 13 Non-industrial (Ni) worlds, eight Low population (Lo) worlds, and no Barren (Ba) worlds. The highest population world is Keshi (Core 1938). The population consists primarily of 1 sophont group.

Major Historical Events Timeline: 1116[edit]
These are some of the more important historical events that have affected this subsector:
- -1304: King Brzeszcze of Keshi decides that the time is right for his planet to take advantage of its superior technology and conquer neighboring worlds.
- -1250: The Chanestin Kingdom reaches its largest size.
- -200: Having been depleted by the deprivations of the Long Night, the Chanestin Kingdom now has only one functioning jump ship.
- -107: Sylean trader-emissaries arrive at Keshi and speak of their growing Federation. The Chanestin are quick to recognize the threat represented by the nation's federal ideas. On the orders of Queen Nayarit, the trade mission is executed. When elements of the Sylean fleet arrive at Keshi, they are engaged by the Chanestin system defense fleet.
- Circa -75: Conflict between the pocket empire based at Santry and the Cordovian Republic.
- -7: Santry, worried by Cordovian diplomatic contact with the Sylean Federation, launch an attack and capture several Cordovian worlds.
- -3: Santry offers the Cordovians an armistice.
- 0: The Third Imperium is founded, out of the Sylean Federation.
- With the Santry naval forces rebuilt, Santry plans on restarting its war. However, friendly relations between the Cordovians and the Syleans see the former incorporated into the new Imperium. With access to superior ships, the new Imperial Navy quickly overwhelms Santry forces.
- 2: The on-off Chanestin-Sylean War ends in a Sylean -- now Third Imperium -- victory, with the conquering of Keshi and final surrender of the Chanestin Kingdom. Keshti is incorporated into the new Imperium.
