Desaekhe is a rich world.
- As a rich world, this planet has high-grade living conditions and is highly sought after by immigrating sophonts.
- This world has a prosperous and thriving world economy.
- Some of the sources of this world's wealth are well known, but others remain a mystery. Many speculate on these mysterious sources of wealth. Some even investigate them... to no avail yet.
- It is a member of the Descarothe Hegemony in the Jungleblut Subsector of Far Frontiers Sector.
- This is a hot world, with a climate of high temperatures.
- This world is also the overall capital of an interstellar government with the massive extra trade and prestige associated with that role.
- This is a "Puzzle" world designated as an Amber Zone. Caution is advised since the world has an environment, laws, customs, life forms, or other conditions that are not well understood and might be a danger to a visitor.
- This world-system hosts a Hegemony Base, with similar capabilities to a Scout Base, which supports the Descar Navy and the Colonial Army.
- This world is a member of Uldor's Reach, a small Main.
Description (Astrography & Planetology)[edit]
Desaekhe has a solitary primary star.
- It is a turbulent white bright giant.
System Data[edit]
The worlds of the system have been surveyed. They consist of:
- The mainworld. It is the second world out from the star.
- x2 secondary rocky worlds.
- x2 gas giants.
Mainworld Data[edit]
The world has an orbital period of 2694 days (7.376 standard years), a rotational period of 24.25 hours, and an axial inclination of 40º 26' 10.8".
- The long local year is divided into four seasons, each lasting around 1.8 standard years.
Mainworld Size (S)[edit]
Desaekhe is a Meso World between 8,800km and 10,400km in diameter. The world has a standard gravity between 0.6G and 0.8G. The horizon will appear about 4.4km away.
- Density: 1.12 standard (6.23 g/cc); mean surface gravity: 0.849 G.
Mainworld Atmosphere (A)[edit]
Desaekhe has a pressure of 0.71 to 1.49 atmospheres. A Standard Atmosphere does not require survival gear and will likely be easy for most sophonts to breathe.
- It experiences high temperatures.
Mainworld Hydrosphere (H)[edit]
Desaekhe has 25-35% of its surface covered by liquid water. It has a few small seas. Wilderness refueling is possible. Water for the inhabitants will be recycled.

History & Background (Dossier)[edit]
Desaekhe is a Puzzle World and is designated as an Amber Zone. It presents particular risks and dangers due to the environment or native life forms, laws or customs, or other conditions that are not well understood.
- Visitors are advised to act with caution.
Until 1088, Desaekhe was a rather backward world with a poorly organized agricultural base and feeble industry. The High Tribunal, a committee of five of the most prominent semi-feudal lords from the planet's primary continents, was organized in that year. Within a decade, tribunal military forces brought the rest of the planet under control. A massive program of industrialization and technological advancement, possibly backed by off-world finances, propelled the world into a position of considerable local power. This was further enhanced as various obsolete ships of Zhodani design were added to the planetary navy by purchases made among a number of nearby Zhodani-aligned client states.
By 1103, the Descar Navy had forced two neighboring worlds to join the Descarothe Hegemony, a tightly controlled empire thinly disguised as a federation of worlds united against League of Suns influence. With this base, Desaekhe -- far more aggressive than the League -- has become a major influence in subsector politics. A dispute over Qarant in 1105 led to a co-dominium status for the world, with full rights of exploration and research extended to both polities. The Hegemony has been much more active there than the League since that time, though the Institute for System Studies does maintain a mission there.
Travel Advisory[edit]
The League of Suns have issued warnings to citizens of the League concerning travel to Hegemony worlds, due to the Hegemony's now-notorious distrust for outsiders, the hostile attitude expressed towards the League, and the strength and zeal of Hegemony military security forces.
- The MeRaZhar, the State security forces, keep close watch on offworlders.
World Starport (St)[edit]
Desaekhe has a Class B Starport, a good quality installation which includes all the expected amenities including refined fuel for starships, brokerage services for passengers and cargo, and a variety of ship provisions. There is a shipyard capable of doing annual maintenance, overhauls and most kinds of repair, and construction of non-starships. Most ports of this classification have both a Highport and a Downport.
- This world hosts a Hegemony Base, with capabilities broadly similar to an Imperial Scout Base. It supports operations conducted by the Descar Navy and the Colonial Army.
World Population (P)[edit]
Desaekhe has a population of 60,000,000 sophonts (tens of millions).
- The population has Zhodani, Imperial, and Vlazhdumecta heritage.
- Many families can trace their ancestry to pre-Long Night Vilani colonists.
Urbanization[edit]
Major urban centers include the cities of Askholth, Joeslchar, Kharadar, Klatha, Lekhar, Thuvar, Vastig, and Zhazhid.
- All cities on the major northern landmass are connected by modern transportation links.
- The mountain city of Zhazhid, on the smaller southern landmass, remains relatively isolated.
Linguistic Topography[edit]
- Descar, a local language with Vlazhdumecta and Vilani origins.
- Local languages descended from Vlazhdumecta.
- Riftian Anglic, a dialect of one of the two principal languages of the Imperium.
- Zdetl, the language of the Zhodani and the Zhodani Consulate.
World Technology Level (T)[edit]
Desaekhe possesses a Technology Level of TL–9.
- Common Communication technologies for this TL include: Fiber optics and satellite communication and data networks.
- Common Power Generation technologies for this TL include: Early fusion power.
- Common Transportation technologies for this TL include:
- Land: Ultra high-speed trains and early grav vehicles.
- Water: High efficiency sailcraft, multihulled seacraft, improved artificial gills.
- Air: Tiltrotorcraft, exotic VTOL's, PARWIG, and rocket-assisted suborbitals.
- Space: SSTO spacecraft, early military spacecraft (System Craft), and interstellar STL starships
- FTL: Prototype Jump Drive-1.
World Government (G)[edit]
Desaekhe is governed by Self-Perpetuating Oligarchy. A single family or small group provides the leadership and important positions within the government. These positions are inherited by members of the group or by their relatives. The organization may be a monarchy, with titles passed to family members, or a plutocracy where inheritance of the family fortune includes government position. Alternatively, the organization may be a more typical government apparatus, only with positions of power inherited.
World Law (L)[edit]
Desaekhe has a high law level with laws covering many areas of interactions of people, corporations, and the government. A few worlds with this law level may be Amber Zones. Any interaction with the judicial system requires an Advocate trained in the local legal system. Law enforcement is present almost everywhere, either as people or via technology. Legal proceedings can take weeks to months to resolve and involve a dozen or more people. All blade weapons and firearms, and anything more destructive, are typically regulated or prohibited.
Trade Data[edit]
- Importance: 2 (ordinary)
World Economy[edit]
- Resources: 9 (moderate)
- Labor: 6 (millions)

- Acceptance: 9 (friendly)
- Strangeness: 5 (distinct)
- Symbols: 9 (somewhat abstract)
