System Data

The worlds of the system have been surveyed. They consist of:

Mainworld Data

Mainworld Size (S)

Fleet is a Big World between 15,200km and 16,800km in diameter. The world has a standard gravity between 1.1G and 1.5G. The horizon will appear about 5.7km away. Vessels with only 1G of thrust should avoid landing on this world.

Mainworld Atmosphere (A)

Fleet has a pressure of 0.71 to 1.49 atmospheres. While a Standard Atmosphere does not require survival gear this atmosphere also contains an unusual taint such as disease, a hazardous gas mix, pollutants, or sulfur compounds which requires the use of a Filter Mask. Some taints may require more protective equipment. TL–3 or more advanced survival gear is required to settle this world.

Mainworld Hydrosphere (H)

Fleet has 75-85% of its surface covered by liquid water with a few large continents and extensive islands. Wilderness refueling is possible.

Mainworld Geography and Topography

No centrally held map of the world exists within AAB Library Data records.

History & Background (Dossier)

Comp-Prog-Dav-R-Deitrick-Starter-Trav-Page-16 16-July-2018a.jpg

Fleet is an agricultural world with an Class A Starport. Huge jump-2 capable Agri-carrier enter and leave the system on a daily basis, to ship grain and other agricultural produce to the worlds of Gigash and Kupio, as well as Kapabu-sepple and Trostar in nearby Kerr Subsector.

Amongst the populace, the world of Fleet is at once exploited and revered; in order to maintain ecological balance all materials have to be recycled, and ocean refueling is forbidden (despite there being no gas giant worlds in the system). Instead, ice mined from the system's secondary worlds or got from cometary and oort bodies is transported to the Fleet's highport and used as fuel. There is always work available for the crews of tanker vessels, and occasionally belters, in this very busy system.

World Starport (St)

Fleet has a Class A Starport, an excellent quality installation which includes all the expected amenities including refined fuel for starships, brokerage services for passengers and cargo, and a variety of ship provisions. There is a shipyard capable of doing annual maintenance, overhauls and other kinds of repair, and construction of both starships and non-starships. Most ports of this classification have both a Highport and a Downport.

World Population (P)

Fleet has a population of 80,000,000 sophonts (tens of millions).

Linguistic Topography

The most commonly heard languages are:

World Technology Level (T)

Fleet possesses a Technology Level of TL–12 or TL-C in Hexadecimal Notation.

World Government (G)

Fleet is governed by an Impersonal Bureaucracy. The leadership of the government takes another form (democracy, dictatorship, oligarchy), but the bureaucracy dictates government policy and its execution. Government leadership is reduced to little more than figureheads and does not select the bureaucracy leadership or its members.

World Law (L)

Fleet has a high law level with laws covering many areas of interactions of people, corporations, and the government. A few worlds with this law level may be Amber Zones. Any interaction with the judicial system requires an Advocate trained in the local legal system. Law enforcement is present almost everywhere, either as people or via technology. Legal proceedings can take weeks to months to resolve and involve a dozen or more people. All blade weapons and firearms, and anything more destructive, are typically regulated or prohibited.

Imperial Landed Nobility

Fleet, as a member world of the Third Imperium, holds the estate of an Imperial Landed Knight who acts as an Imperial representative to the world, and the fiefdoms of two members of the Imperial Landed Nobility, who oversee affairs regarding the world at an Interstellar and Imperial level.

Trade Data

  • Importance: 3 (ordinary)

World Economy

  • Resources: 9 (moderate)
  • Labor: 6 (millions)
  • Infrastructure: D (comprehensive)
  • Efficiency: +3 (improved)

World Culture

  • Heterogenity: 7 (discordant)
  • Acceptance: A (very friendly)
  • Strangeness: 5 (distinct)
  • Symbols: C (very abstract)
