Frenzie is a vacuum world, with a complete lack of atmosphere. The system has a population between 10,000 and 10 million, lacking the industrial base to be completely self-supporting. This system serves as the capital for the subsector. It is a member of Third Imperium in the Vilis Subsector of Spinward Marches Sector and in the Domain of Deneb. Frenzie, as a member world of the Third Imperium, holds the estate of an Imperial knight, a member of the Imperial Landed Nobility who acts as an Imperial representative to the world. This world has a nearby Imperial Naval Base, capable of handling warships.
Astrography & Planetology
The system is located in the Vilis Trace.
Frenzie is a very cold planet, orbiting a tired red-dwarf star. There is some evidence that the world once had an atmosphere and even supported life.
History & Background (Dossier)
World Starport (St)
Frenzie has a Class A Starport, an excellent quality installation which includes all the expected amenities including refined fuel for starships, brokerage services for passengers and cargo, and a variety of ship provisions. There is a shipyard capable of doing annual maintenance, overhauls and other kinds of repair, and construction of both starships and non-starships. Most ports of this classification have both a Highport and a Downport.
- The world is host to a Naval Base.
Until and during the Fifth Frontier War, the 23rd Fleet was based at Frenzie. The Imperial 193rd Fleet moved to Frenzie after the post-Fifth Frontier War restructuring having covered itself with glory during the Fifth Frontier War (the 23rd Fleet in turn moved to the Rhylanor Subsector). Frenzie is still considered a high prestige posting to this day.
World Population (P)
Frenzie has a population of 10,000 sophonts (tens of thousands).
- This is a Nonindustrial World, too small to support the complete chain of production of most goods from start to finish.
Linguistic Topography
The following languages are most commonly heard:
- Anglic, one of the two official languages of the Imperium.
- Vilani, one of the two official languages of the Imperium.
World Technology Level (T)
Frenzie possesses a Technology Level of TL–10 or TL-A in Hexadecimal Notation.
- Common Communication technologies for this TL include: Holovision, Personal Global Communications, and advanced Translators.
- Common Power Generation technologies for this TL include: Increasingly advanced fusion plants and advanced fuel cells.
- Common Transportation technologies for this TL include:
- Land & Water: Grav belts and maturing gravcraft.
- Air: Greatly improved hybrid grav-aircraft.
- Space: Improved interplanetary spacecraft (System Craft).
- FTL: Jump Drive-1.
World Government (G)
Frenzie is governed by Self-Perpetuating Oligarchy. A single family or small group provides the leadership and important positions within the government. These positions are inherited by members of the group or by their relatives. The organization may be a monarchy, with titles passed to family members, or a plutocracy where inheritance of the family fortune includes government position. Alternatively, the organization may be a more typical government apparatus, only with positions of power inherited.
World Law (L)
Frenzie has a moderate level with laws covering many areas of government and interaction. These laws are simple enough that most people can act as their own advocate, though for serious issues a professional is recommended. Law enforcement officials will be present, but not in great numbers. All firearms except shotguns, and anything more destructive, are typically regulated or prohibited.
Imperial High (Landed) Nobility
Frenzie, as a member world of the Third Imperium, holds the estate of an Imperial Landed Knight who acts as an Imperial representative to the world, and the fiefdom of a member of the Imperial Landed Nobility, who oversees affairs regarding the world at an Interstellar and Imperial level.
- It holds the estate of an Imperial knight, the Imperial representative to the world.
- It holds the fiefdom of an Imperial subsector duke, who also conducts affairs regarding the entire subsector at the Interstellar and Imperial level.
Frenzie is the seat of the Duchy of Frenzie.
While the Duke of Frenzie is notionally the Subsector Duke, many of the worlds in the subsector are still controlled by the Duchy of Regina via the County of Vilis. In practice, the Duke of Frenzie only controls the County of Frenzie, which is contiguous with the Duchy's bounds and is a demesne of the Duke of Frenzie anyway.
A member of the Imperial nobility, Canter Mavraii, administers this world as the Marquis of Frenzie.[2]
