Vilis, County of

Imperial county in the Spinward Marches consisting of all Imperial worlds in the Vilis subsector. The County of Vilis is a part of the Duchy of Regina.

The County of Vilis is currently part of the Duchy of Regina following the the creation of that Duchy in 629. Prior to that it was part of the Duchy of Rhylanor (Created 522). Vilis is the notional capital of that County. Despite being in the Vilis Subsector, Vilis is neither the Subsector Capital nor the seat of the Subsector Duke, nor is it subject to him.

In practice, the Imperial X-Boat network ends at Garda-Vilis and thus many of the county's administrative functions that should normally be on Vilis are placed there instead.

The Duchy of Frenzie is contiguous with the County, sharing its astrographic boundaries: the County is a demesne of the Duke of Frenzie.
