Hoep is a poor, barren hellworld, which would challenge the survival of nearly any sophont in Charted Space if it weren't already barren.
- As a barren world, it has no overt population, government, or law level.
- Hellworlds often offer daily, and sometimes hourly, life-threatening situations to their inhabitants.
- This world could probably be populated by very determined colonists if any had an inclination to do so...
- This is a "forbidden" world designated as a Red Zone with an environment, laws, customs, life forms, or other conditions that make it extremely dangerous to visitors. Everyone is forbidden to travel here.
- This world is a "Twilight Zone World", a planet that is tidally-locked to its star. It has a hot side that permanently faces the star, a cold side that permanently faces away, and a narrow twilight zone in-between.
- It is an unclaimed Non-Aligned world located in the Elnath Subsector of Aldebaran Sector.

History & Background (Dossier)
Hoep is a Forbidden World and is designated as a Red Zone. It presents serious risks and dangers due to the environment or native life forms, laws or customs, or other conditions that make it extremely dangerous to visitors.
- Travel to this world is prohibited.
The world was claimed and named by Captain Jon Smið (sic) of the colony vessel Waiferar (massing over 4000 dTons and rated at Jump-4).
The initial orbital scans and geologic survey by Smið were accepted by the Scout service, though subsequent missions have resulted in several recent updates.
World Starport (St)
Hoep does not have a starport. The Class X Starport is an indication that no starport exists in the system. There are no facilities or services available, and no site marked for landing.
World Population (P)
Hoep is a Barren World with no sophont population. It may still possess lifeforms.
Urbanization
On a plateau near the northern icepack, there is section of rock where the words "Jon Smið wuz hier" have clearly been burned into the rock by a ship-mounted beam laser. Analysis indicates that whatever ship was involved would have needed to be quite near the surface to effect this act.
World Technology Level (T)
Hoep possesses a Tech Level of TL–0.
- The world has no technological base.
World Government (G)
Hoep has no government or ruling authority of any kind.
