Ur is a vacuum world, with a complete lack of atmosphere. The system has a population between 10,000 and 10 million, lacking the industrial base to be completely self-supporting. This is a high technology world with available technology over the standards for Charted Space. It is a member of Third Imperium in the Argi Subsector of Dagudashaag Sector and in the Domain of Vland. Ur, as a member world of the Third Imperium, holds the estate of an Imperial knight, a member of the Imperial Landed Nobility who acts as an Imperial representative to the world. During the Long Night this world was named Mim.
Astrography & Planetology
Ur is part of the Dagudashaag Main.
Stellar Data
System Data
System:
- # of Gas Giants: 4
- # of Planetoid Belts: 0
- # of Other Worlds: 5
System Importance (Ix)
This world has an Importance Extension (Ix): of 1 (Ordinary).
- (The Importance Extension (Ix) ranks worlds within a region. It governs the locations of capitals and trade routes.)
Mainworld Data
Mainworld Size (S)
Ur is a Meso World between 5,600km and 7,200km in diameter. The world has low gravity between 0.32G and 0.46G. The horizon will appear about 3.6km away.
Mainworld Atmosphere (A)
Ur has a pressure of less than 0.001 atmospheres which requires the use of a Vacc Suit. TL–8 or more advanced survival gear is required to settle this world.
Mainworld Hydrosphere (H)
Ur has no free-standing water or ice on the surface. Wilderness refueling isn't possible on this world. Water for the inhabitants needs to be imported and extensively recycled. These worlds are classified Desert World or a Hell World depending on their atmosphere.

History & Background (Dossier)
The world was colonized by vacuum miners who discovered Onnesium-118 on the planet. The lucky few who discovered sufficiently large deposits became billionaires and built grav-palaces, the rest reside within deep underground cities dreaming of finding the 'mother lode'. A social rank based on success determines privileges and responsibilities. Only successful miners can stand for governmental positions.
Imperial Landed Nobility (N)
Ur, as a member world of the Third Imperium has a member of the Imperial Landed Nobility who acts as an Imperial representative to the world.
World Starport (Sp)
Ur has a Class B Starport, a good quality installation which includes all the expected amenities including refined fuel for starships, brokerage services for passengers and cargo, and a variety of ship provisions. There is a shipyard capable of doing annual maintenance, overhauls and most kinds of repair, and construction of non-starships. Most ports of this classification have both a Highport and a Downport.
- The Starport Authority employee population is approximately 440 sophonts.
World Population (P)
Ur has a population of 100,000 sophonts (hundreds of thousands).
- This is a Nonindustrial World, too small to support the complete chain of production of most goods from start to finish.
- This world has a population of approximately 500,000 sophonts.
World Demographics
World Government (G)

For interactions outside of the framework of the laws, cultural norms dominate. Body pistols, explosives, and poison gas are typically regulated or prohibited.
World Technology Level (TL)
Ur possesses a Technology Level of TL–14 or TL-E in Hexadecimal Notation.
- Common Communication technologies for this TL include: Early meson communicators.
- Common Power Generation technologies for this TL include: Miniature super-batteries, early collectors, and advanced fusion plants.
- Common Transportation technologies for this TL include:
- Land, Water & Air: Personal G-Tubes and advanced gravcraft.
