  • Gvegh: The language family of Vargr cultures at the spinward extreme of the Vargr Extents.
  • N'Toz: A language of the Drakarans and the official language of the Taakas Yh'Drak.
  • Oynprith: The ritualistic, ceremonial language of Droyne communities throughout Charted Space.
  • Zdetl: The state language of the Zhodani Consulate and a common primary or secondary language in client states and independent nations within the Zhodani sphere of influence.

History & Background (Dossier)[edit]

As of 1105, the Empress Wave is making its way through this sector, resulting in mass migration to coreward. Amber Zone worlds in this sector in 1105 reflect worlds either already touched by the Wave (and not yet mostly recovered) or thrown into chaos by its impending arrival.

Red Zone worlds in this sector are uncolonized worlds, new settlement of which is locally frowned upon without extensive, deliberate planning, which involves getting approval from the more important worlds of the sector. That is the official explanation; in truth, this approval comes indirectly from the Zhodani Consulate even though the Consulate does not officially claim any worlds in this sector. The edge of this uncolonized space has waxed and waned over time, as colonies have been founded and sometimes abandoned; in 1105 this is roughly one third of the worlds in this sector, mostly to coreward.

Politics & Diplomacy (Interstellar Relations)[edit]

The Zhodani-inhabited worlds of this sector, which is most inhabited worlds of Chit Botshti, are indirectly dominated by the Zhodani Consulate. However, the Consulate does not officially control any world in this sector. Being just beyond the Consulate's formal borders, this sector has long been used as an outlet for Zhodani deemed unfit to live -- or who do not wish to live -- within the Driantia Zhdantia. It should be noted that, in this case, the two concepts blur: "do not wish to" usually includes being resistant to psionic persuasion to do so, which is a measure of unfitness, in the Consulate's view.

The Drakaran polity, the Taakas Yh'Drak, extends into Mie Subsector. As with the Zhodani, those Drakarans unsuited to life in mainstream society -- the Ski'Skedrak -- have settlements elsewhere in the sector.

Two independent Droyne groups have minor influence as of 1105. The Wave Chasers are making inroads through Otrapl Subsector and Itla Subsector, while another Droyne world mentors the Airochan in Airoch Subsector. Most Zhodani in the sector are unaware of either of these as of 1105.

Sector Summary: 1105[edit]

The Chit Botshti sector has 391 worlds with an estimated combined population of 563 billion, a per capita income of Cr4,123, and a total economy of BCr2,321,569. These worlds originate an interstellar trade of BCr6,887 through 222 starports (63 Class A, 61 Class B, 73 Class C, 25 Class D) employing 1,373,625 people. Driving this interstellar trade are 40 Agricultural (Ag) worlds, 25 Non-Agricultural (Na) worlds, no Pre-Agricultural (Pa) worlds, two Pre-Industrial (Pi) worlds, 21 Rich (Ri) worlds, and 22 Industrial (In) worlds. The governments in Chit Botshti maintain 84 Military bases, 82 Naval bases, four Naval depots, and two Scout bases. The average technology level is 5 (with most between 0 and 10). The highest technology level is 14 at Ajyieplzdavr (Chit Botshti 0217), Evrchtie (Chit Botshti 0814), Iatsi (Chit Botshti 1319), Nibrdli (Chit Botshti 0326), Shabldriefl (Chit Botshti 0529), and Plenjzhdobl (Chit Botshti 0628).

The Chit Botshti sector contains 431 stars and no identified planets; 355 monostellar systems, 32 binary systems, four trinary systems, and no systems with four or more stars. 305 of the 391 systems (78%) have native gas giants. There are 12 Asteroid (As) belts, 28 Desert (De) worlds, one Garden (Ga) world, seven Ice-capped (Ic) worlds, 53 Poor (Po) worlds, 38 Vacuum (Va) worlds, and 39 Water (Wa) or Ocean (Oc) worlds.

Chit Botshti has an estimated population of 563 billion distributed across 24 High population (Hi) worlds, two Moderate population (Ph) worlds, 307 Non-industrial (Ni) worlds, 142 Low population (Lo) worlds, and 138 Barren (Ba) worlds. The highest population worlds are Plaia (Chit Botshti 0219), Plaia (Chit Botshti 0220), Izhdiazapent (Chit Botshti 0911), Pleriae (Chit Botshti 1726), Jdiepia (Chit Botshti 0336), and Peqleav (Chit Botshti 1719). The population consists primarily of 7 sophont groups including three native sophonts.
