System Data[edit]
The worlds of the system have been surveyed. They consist of:
- Dathsuts, an extremely hot trace atmosphere world designated the mainworld and orbiting within the hot inner system.
- It lies within the star's jump shadow.
- Devakoni, a hot trace atmosphere world orbiting within the inner system.
- Thailink, a relatively large vacuum world lying at the inner edge of the habitable zone.
- Hassaton, a very thin atmosphere desert hell world orbiting within the habitable zone.
- Gany, a large vacuum world lying at the outer edge of the habitable zone.
- Kanvid, a very thin atmosphere desert world orbiting within the cold outer system.
- Tikal, an outer system large gas giant with an extensive family of moons.
- Lefier, a large ice-covered world with a largely nitrogen atmosphere that marks the edge of the system.
Phora, the secondary star, retains no planets.
- A chart depicting the Dathsuts system, based on data provided in "The Flaming Eye"
Mainworld Data[edit]
Mainworld Size (S)[edit]
Dathsuts is a Small World between 4,000km and 5,600km in diameter. The world has low gravity between 0.24G and 0.34G. The horizon will appear about 3km away.
Mainworld Atmosphere (A)[edit]
Dathsuts has a pressure of less than 0.1 atmospheres which requires the use of a Vacc Suit. TL–8 or more advanced survival gear is required to settle this world.
Mainworld Hydrosphere (H)[edit]
Dathsuts has no free-standing water or ice on the surface. Wilderness refueling isn't possible on this world. Water for the inhabitants needs to be imported and extensively recycled. These worlds are classified Desert World or a Hell World depending on their atmosphere.
Mainworld Geography and Topography[edit]
A map of Dathsuts, the nominated mainworld of the system, showing cratered plains, rugged uplands, and major regions of molten rock.
- Far more detailed maps are available locally.
- Verified updated charts are constantly sought.
- Detailed survey data commands premium prices.
- A map of Dathsuts based on data provided in "The Flaming Eye".
History & Background (Dossier)[edit]
Dathsuts is a marginally settled backwater that has remained largely ignored until recent times. In 1073, planetological surveys using the latest densitometers picked up deposits of highly refined lanthanum and thulium over a kilometer deep in the innermost planet's crust.
The Scouts landed a team of prospecting specialists on the world, and they spent the next half-decade drilling through extremely hard rock, getting to the deposits. The high surface temperature of the world (averaging nearly 600°C) made initial drilling difficult. Once down a hundred meters or so, the cooler temperature made working easier.
What the Scouts found was a bit odd: small pockets of pure lanthanum and thulium. The prospecting specialists on the team were at a loss to explain how such high-quality deposits could occur naturally. "An oddity of nature," remarked the lead prospector in her final report.
The Scouts removed all the deposits they could find with densitometers and took them to the Vilani AAB for further study and display in the geological museum. Since then, a few hardy private individuals have continued to prospect the region deep in the tunnels. A few have gotten rich on an occasional lucky find.
Recently, the prospectors on Dathsuts have reported some strange, unexplainable events, such as their densitometers jumping about wildly or going off the scale - with even more fantastic stories of strange sudden deaths. Many offworld experts think the long days spent deep in the mining tunnels are getting to some prospectors.
World Starport (St)[edit]
Dathsuts has a Class C Starport, an average quality installation which features amenities including unrefined fuel for starships, some brokerage services for passengers and cargo, and a variety of ship provisions. There is a shipyard capable of doing maintenance and other kinds of repair. Ports of this classification generally have only a downport, unless this is a trade port or system with an hostile environment mainworld.
World Population (P)[edit]
Dathsuts has a population of 900 sophonts (hundreds).
- This is a Low Population World and the population would be too low to sustain itself without moderate outside assistance. This may represent a large transient population such as the crew of a fleet of starships, the dwindling remnants of a dying colony, a construction team building a new colony, or an outpost that could evolve into a colony.
- Around 70% of the population is made up of humans.
- Approximately 30% of the population consists of Vargr.
Urbanization[edit]
Almost all of the world is wilderness. There is only one urban center:
World Technology Level (T)[edit]
Dathsuts possesses a Technology Level of TL–10 or TL-A in Hexadecimal Notation.
- Common Communication technologies for this TL include: Holovision, Personal Global Communications, and advanced Translators.
- Common Power Generation technologies for this TL include: Increasingly advanced fusion plants and advanced fuel cells.
- Common Transportation technologies for this TL include:
- Land & Water: Grav belts and maturing gravcraft.
- Air: Greatly improved hybrid grav-aircraft.
- Space: Improved interplanetary spacecraft (System Craft).
- FTL: Jump Drive-1.
World Government (G)[edit]
Dathsuts has no central government or substantial government apparatus; an Anarchy. The largest governmental structure would be a family, tribe, or single clan. The largest group will be between 50 and 100 individuals, and there may be dozens to hundreds of them. This governmental structure can be stable over long periods of time if the population remains small or geographically separated.
World Law (L)[edit]
Dathsuts has no law in practice. It is an Anarchy. On many worlds, this by itself justifies an Amber Zone advisory. There are few laws, covering only important areas. There may be few or no law enforcement officers, the expectation is citizens will bring law breakers to the attention of the Judicial system. Legal proceedings will be fast, with few people involved. For interactions outside of the framework of the laws, cultural norms dominate.
Trade Data[edit]
- Importance: 0 (unimportant)
The worlds primary products are ores and compounds.
World Economy[edit]
- Resources: 5 (scarce)
- Labor: 1 (tens)
- Infrastructure: 0 (non-existent)
- Efficiency: -4 (very poor)
World Culture[edit]
- Heterogenity: 1 (monolithic)

World Timeline[edit]
Major events that have affected this world and the wider region that it lies within:
- -4045 to -2204: the Ziru Sirka claims and settles worlds across the region.
- -3810: the Vargr discover jump technology and begin an era of expansion.
- -2404 to -2215: the Interstellar Wars.
- -2204 to -1776: the Rule of Man administers the worlds of the region. Conflicts escalate between Vargr and humans as the Vargr occupy former Ziru Sirka territory.
- circa -1700: Vargr rimward expansion gradually ceases: the border between human and Vargr space stabilizes.
- -1776 to 0: the Long Night. There is widespread regression within the area and some worlds become barren.
- The Year 0: the Third Imperium is founded.
- 300-420: the First Survey charts the system.
- 604 to 622: the Imperial Civil War. The region suffers disruption and widespread economic issues.
- 624: the Express Boat Network is established, facilitating communications, trade, and economic growth within the area.
- 995-1065: the Second Survey charts the system.
- 1065: the Second Survey is published. Information about the system becomes widely available.
