Tenelphi is a nonindustrial, pre-rich water world, which has 90% or more of its surface covered in an ocean of water.

  • As a nonindustrial world, it requires extensive imports of outside technology to maintain a modern, star-faring society. The need to import most manufactured and high technology goods drives the price of these goods up in the open market.
  • It still lacks adequate population to expand its economy to a rich status.
  • Its economy is growing and living conditions are expected to rise in the near future barring outside forces.
  • It is a Non-Aligned world dominated by human sophonts located in the Trin's Veil Subsector of Spinward Marches Sector.

Description (Astrography & Planetology)[edit]

Stellar Data[edit]

Tenelphi is a binary star system.

  • The primary is a white main sequence.
  • The secondary is a red main sequence.
Tenelphi has two stars in the star system.

System Data[edit]

The worlds of the system have been surveyed. They consist of:

Mainworld Data[edit]

Tenelphi orbits within its star's habitable zone.

Chart Orbit HZ Region Simple.png

Mainworld Size (S)[edit]

Tenelphi is a Meso World between 10,400km and 12,000km in diameter. The world has a standard gravity between 0.7G and 0.9G. The horizon will appear about 4.7km away.

Mainworld Atmosphere (A)[edit]

Tenelphi has a pressure of 0.71 to 1.49 atmospheres. A Standard Atmosphere does not require survival gear and will likely be easy for most sophonts to breathe.

Mainworld Hydrosphere (H)[edit]

Tenelphi has 95-100% of its surface covered by liquid water with only a few islands and archipelagos. Wilderness refueling is possible. Such worlds are Water Worlds or Ocean Worlds.

Mainworld Geography and Topography[edit]

No centrally held map of the world exists within AAB Library Data records.

World Starport (St)[edit]

Tenelphi has a Class D Starport, a poor quality installation which has few of the expected amenities. There is unrefined fuel for starships and a limited variety of ship provisions. There is no shipyard of any kind, but there may be parts and technical support for doing minor services and repair. Ports of this classification generally consist of only a downport, unless this is a trade port or system with an hostile environment mainworld.

World Population (P)[edit]

Tenelphi has a population of 900,000 sophonts (hundreds of thousands).

  • This is a Nonindustrial World, too small to support the complete chain of production of most goods from start to finish.

Urbanization[edit]

The many communities of Tenelphi are scattered across the world’s archipelagos or built on the seabed

Linguistic Topography[edit]

The following languages are most commonly heard:

World Technology Level (T)[edit]

Tenelphi possesses a Technology Level of TL–9.

  • Common Communication technologies for this TL include: Fiber optics and satellite communication and data networks.
  • Common Power Generation technologies for this TL include: Early fusion power.
  • Common Transportation technologies for this TL include:
    • Land: Ultra high-speed trains and early grav vehicles.
    • Water: High efficiency sailcraft, multihulled seacraft, improved artificial gills.
    • Air: Tiltrotorcraft, exotic VTOL's, PARWIG, and rocket-assisted suborbitals.
    • Space: SSTO spacecraft, early military spacecraft (System Craft), and interstellar STL starships
    • FTL: Prototype Jump Drive-1.

World Government (G)[edit]

Tenelphi has a Balkanized Government. There is no central world government. The world has several governments competing for control of the world. These may be allies, cooperating, competitors, or at war with each other.

World Law (L)[edit]

Tenelphi has a high law level with laws covering many areas of interactions of people, corporations, and the government. A few worlds with this law level may be Amber Zones. Any interaction with the judicial system requires an Advocate trained in the local legal system. Law enforcement is present almost everywhere, either as people or via technology. Legal proceedings can take weeks to months to resolve and involve a dozen or more people. All objects specifically manufactured as weapons are typically regulated or prohibited (outside private residences or visiting starships).

Imperial Landed Nobility[edit]

Tenelphi, as a member world of the Third Imperium, holds the estate of an Imperial Landed Knight who acts as an Imperial representative to the world, and the estate of a member of the Imperial Landed Nobility, who oversees affairs regarding the world at an Interstellar and Imperial level.

Trade Data[edit]

  • Importance: -2 (very unimportant)

World Economy[edit]

  • Resources: 8 (moderate)
  • Labor: 4 (tens of thousands)
  • Infrastructure: 2 (extremely limited)
  • Efficiency: -1 (average)

World Culture[edit]

  • Heterogenity: 6 (harmonious)
  • Acceptance: 3 (xenophobic)
  • Strangeness: 6 (very distinct)
  • Symbols: A (abstract)
