Sagree is an agricultural, nonindustrial world still lacking adequate means to expand its economy.
- As an agricultural world, this world is a near-ideal environment for producing quality foodstuffs of plant, animal, and other forms. Quality foodstuffs are a major export commodity for this world.
- It requires extensive imports of outside technology to maintain a modern, star-faring society. Having to import most manufactured and high tech goods drives the price up for these items at this world.
- It is a member of the Third Imperium in the Wolf Subsector of Zarushagar Sector in the Domain of Ilelish.
- This is a temperate world, with a climate of pleasant, average temperatures, considered to be an ideal or near-ideal environment by many different sophont species.
- It is the homeworld of the Hlatoi.
- It lies within the Schmidt Cluster.
- It is part of the Darmine Cultural Region.
- It is considered to be part of Darmine Space.
- This world was once known as Quantum.
Description (Astrography & Planetology)[edit]
Stellar Data[edit]
Sagree is a binary star system.
- The primary is a white main sequence.
- The secondary is a red main sequence.
System Data[edit]
The worlds of the system have been surveyed. They consist of:
- The mainworld.
- x5 secondary rocky worlds.
- x5 gas giants.
Mainworld Data[edit]
Mainworld Size (S)[edit]
Sagree is a Meso World between 10,400km and 12,000km in diameter. The world has a standard gravity between 0.7G and 0.9G. The horizon will appear about 4.7km away.
Mainworld Atmosphere (A)[edit]
Sagree has a pressure of 1.50 to 2.49 atmospheres. While a Dense Atmosphere requires no survival gear this atmosphere also contains an unusual taint such as disease, a hazardous gas mix, pollutants, or sulfur compounds which requires the use of a Filter Mask. Some taints may require more protective equipment. TL–3 or more advanced survival gear is required to settle this world.
- It experiences generally moderate temperatures.
Mainworld Hydrosphere (H)[edit]
Sagree has 55-65% of its surface covered by liquid water. It has significant large liquid bodies. Wilderness refueling is possible.
Mainworld Geography and Topography[edit]
No centrally held map of the world exists within AAB Library Data records.
(Blank map, predominantly watery world.)
Native Lifeforms[edit]
Abundant native life occupying every available ecological niche. Its metabolic functions drive the process of atmospheric renewal.
History & Background (Dossier)[edit]
Sagree is a member of the Schmidt Cluster, a minor trade route in the central-rimward part of Zarushagar Sector.
The world was a part of Darmine Space, a region that survived both the collapse of the Rule of Man and the Long Night largely due to the efforts of the Darmine, who under the aegis of the Darmine Corporate continued to conduct trade and commerce, maintained a degree of law and order, and helped defend against threats. It was not a state, rather a broad area in which the Darmine and others were active: the populations of most of its worlds were of Vilani or Terran descent, with few native Darmine ever being present. Despite this, it is regarded as a Darmine "Golden Age" and most worlds are proud of their association with it. The Darmine Space region was absorbed by the expanding Third Imperium following the Ilelish Pacification Campaign.
It is a part of the Darmine Cultural Region, created within rimward Zarushagar Sector by order of Emperor Artemsus in the years immediately following the Ilelish Pacification Campaign.
It is one of several neighboring systems carrying names originating in Irkonee, the language of the Geonee. Geonee merchants and explorers applied them in the years prior to the Ziru Sirka: there are no substantial Geonee populations here in the modern age.
Native Sophont[edit]
Sagree is the homeworld of Hlatoi, a sophont species content with their pastoral, low-tech society. They have long been in contact with offworlders and sometimes trade with them.
World Starport (St)[edit]
Sagree has a Class C Starport, an average quality installation which features amenities including unrefined fuel for starships, some brokerage services for passengers and cargo, and a variety of ship provisions. There is a shipyard capable of doing maintenance and other kinds of repair. Ports of this classification generally have only a downport, unless this is a trade port or system with an hostile environment mainworld.
World Population (P)[edit]
Sagree has a population of 6,000,000 sophonts (millions).
- This is a Nonindustrial World, too small to support the complete chain of production of most goods from start to finish.
- The population almost entirely consists of Hlatoi.
Linguistic Topography[edit]
The most commonly heard languages are:
- Anglic, one of the two official languages of the Imperium.
- Native Hlatoi languages.
- Vilani, one of the two official languages of the Imperium.
World Technology Level (T)[edit]
Sagree possesses a Technology Level of TL–8.
- Common Communication technologies for this TL include: Fiber optics, improved telephones, and satellite communication and data networks.
- Common Power Generation technologies for this TL include: Improved geothermal and improved batteries.
- Common Transportation technologies for this TL include:
- Land: Advanced automobiles.
- Water: Triphibians and early artificial gills.
- Air: Improved helicopters and hypersonic jets.
- Space: Space shuttles, early space stations, and improved interplanetary spacecraft (System Craft).
World Government (G)[edit]
Sagree is governed by a Representative Democracy where government leadership is by representatives elected by eligible voters. What determines an eligible voter varies. The representatives determine policy, including selecting members of the bureaucracy. There can be referenda, votes by eligible voters on specific subjects.
World Law (L)[edit]
Sagree has no law in practice. It is an Anarchy. On many worlds, this by itself justifies an Amber Zone advisory. There are few laws, covering only important areas. There may be few or no law enforcement officers, the expectation is citizens will bring law breakers to the attention of the Judicial system. Legal proceedings will be fast, with few people involved. For interactions outside of the framework of the laws, cultural norms dominate.
Imperial Landed Nobility[edit]
Sagree, as a member world of the Third Imperium, holds the estate of an Imperial Landed Knight who acts as an Imperial representative to the world, and the fiefdom of a member of the Imperial Landed Nobility, who oversees affairs regarding the world at an Interstellar and Imperial level.
- It holds the estate of an Imperial knight, the Imperial representative to the world.
- It holds the fiefdom of an Imperial baron.
