Qrazhazhjal is a high-population world with a billion or more sophonts in population size.
- It is a member of the Izrats Kriezhlas Unity in the Izh Kriezhlal Subsector of Yiklerzdanzh Sector.
- This is a temperate world, with a climate of pleasant, average temperatures, considered to be an ideal or near-ideal environment by many different sophont species.
- This is a "high technology" world with technology achievements at, near, or above the standard for Charted Space.
- This world hosts an IKU Way Station.
Description (Astrography & Planetology)[edit]
Stellar Data[edit]
Qrazhazhjal has a solitary primary star.
- It is a red main sequence.
System Data[edit]
The worlds of the system have been partially surveyed. They consist of:
- The mainworld.
- An unknown number of secondary rocky worlds.
- x2 planetoid belts.
- x2 gas giants.
Mainworld Data[edit]
Qrazhazhjal has a slow rotation period: one local day is equivalent to 3.5 standard days (85 standard hours).
It orbits within the prime region of its star's habitable zone.
- It receives moderate levels of stellar energy.
Mainworld Size (S)[edit]
Qrazhazhjal is a Meso World between 5,600km and 7,200km in diameter. The world has low gravity between 0.32G and 0.46G. The horizon will appear about 3.6km away.
Mainworld Atmosphere (A)[edit]
Qrazhazhjal has a pressure of 0.71 to 1.49 atmospheres. While a Standard Atmosphere does not require survival gear this atmosphere also contains an unusual taint such as disease, a hazardous gas mix, pollutants, or sulfur compounds which requires the use of a Filter Mask. Some taints may require more protective equipment. TL–3 or more advanced survival gear is required to settle this world.
- Temperatures during daylight hours are high but fall to low levels at night.
Mainworld Hydrosphere (H)[edit]
Qrazhazhjal has 75-85% of its surface covered by liquid water with a few large continents and extensive islands. Wilderness refueling is possible.
Satellites[edit]
Qrazhazhjal retains one small vacuum moon.
- It orbits once every few weeks.
Mainworld Geography and Topography[edit]
No centrally held map of the world exists within AAB Library Data records.
- Locally, detailed maps may be available.
(Blank map, predominantly watery world.)
Native Lifeforms[edit]
Primitive native life occupying a number of ecological niches. Its metabolic functions drive the process of atmospheric renewal.
History & Background (Dossier)[edit]
Qrazhazhjal was settled in the early days of the Unity. It is now a busy, thriving system, and the site of the Great Common — a meeting hall the size of a large city. The main hall has a door almost 70 meters high.
World Starport (St)[edit]
Qrazhazhjal has a Class A Starport, an excellent quality installation which includes all the expected amenities including refined fuel for starships, brokerage services for passengers and cargo, and a variety of ship provisions. There is a shipyard capable of doing annual maintenance, overhauls and other kinds of repair, and construction of both starships and non-starships. Most ports of this classification have both a Highport and a Downport.
- The world is host to an IKU Way Station.
World Population (P)[edit]
Qrazhazhjal has a population of 20,000,000,000 sophonts (tens of billions).
- High Population Worlds like this tend to have huge consumer markets.
- The population almost entirely consists of Vlazhdumecta.
Linguistic Topography[edit]
The most widely spoken language is Vlazhdumecta.
Urbanization[edit]
Settled areas on a Vlazhdumecta world will feature Kishik ("Places of Contemplation"), used for quiet experience of the sublime. Most settlements have a variety of such places, whether constructed (the equivalent of Solomani churches and monasteries) or natural (e.g. preserved beauty spots).
World Technology Level (T)[edit]
Qrazhazhjal possesses a Technology Level of TL–14 or TL-E in Hexadecimal Notation.
- Common Communication technologies for this TL include: Early meson communicators.
- Common Power Generation technologies for this TL include: Miniature super-batteries, early collectors, and advanced fusion plants.
- Common Transportation technologies for this TL include:
- Land, Water & Air: Personal G-Tubes and advanced gravcraft.
- Space: Advanced interplanetary spacecraft (System Craft).
- FTL: Jump Drive-5.
World Government (G)[edit]
Qrazhazhjal is governed by a Charismatic Oligarchy, like a charismatic dictatorship in that a larger group has asserted their right to rule. The group will likely have better rules of succession than a single dictator and may last longer, or may transition to a non-charismatic dictatorship.
World Law (L)[edit]
Qrazhazhjal has a high law level with laws covering many areas of interactions of people, corporations, and the government. A few worlds with this law level may be Amber Zones. Any interaction with the judicial system requires an Advocate trained in the local legal system. Law enforcement is present almost everywhere, either as people or via technology. Legal proceedings can take weeks to months to resolve and involve a dozen or more people. All objects specifically manufactured as weapons are typically regulated or prohibited (outside private residences or visiting starships).
World Culture[edit]
The world lies within the Zhodani Shadow, a region strongly influenced by the society and culture of the Zhodani Consulate.
It is believed by many inhabitants that the Izrats Kriezhlas tradition of tattooing occupations on the face started on Qrazhazhjal, though other systems dispute this. The inhabitants are well-off, and love to display their wealth in ostentatious ways. People have extravagant quarters and conspicuous consumption habits.
