Subsector L of Gashikan Sector.
Description[edit]
Confusingly, Gashikan Subsector does not contain Gashikan. The subsector was renamed from Macedon when the Second Empire of Gashikan crushed all Vargr settlements here early in the Gashikan Race Wars.
Summary[edit]
Gashikan, subsector L of Gashikan, contains 40 worlds with an estimated combined population of 134 billion, a per capita income of Cr4,014, and a total economy of BCr537,901. These worlds originate an interstellar trade of BCr2,038 through 37 starports (12 Class A, 11 Class B, 8 Class C, 6 Class D) employing 225,385 people. Driving this interstellar trade are three Agricultural (Ag) worlds, four Non-Agricultural (Na) worlds, four Pre-Agricultural (Pa) worlds, five Pre-Industrial (Pi) worlds, no Rich (Ri) worlds, and two Industrial (In) worlds. The governments in Gashikan maintain 13 Scout bases and five Naval bases. The average technology level is 8 (with most between 6 and 10). The highest technology level is 12 at Gugerkhi (Gashikan 2530), Kukush (Gashikan 3227), and Negim (Gashikan 3229).
Gashikan, subsector L of Gashikan, contains 64 stars and 454 identified planets; 26 monostellar systems, six binary systems, seven trinary systems, and one system with four or more stars. 34 of the 40 systems (85%) have native gas giants. There are two Asteroid (As) belts, three Desert (De) worlds, one Garden (Ga) world, one Ice-capped (Ic) world, four Poor (Po) worlds, seven Vacuum (Va) worlds, and no Water (Wa) or Ocean (Oc) worlds.
Gashikan has an estimated population of 134 billion distributed across three High population (Hi) worlds, three Moderate population (Ph) worlds, 22 Non-industrial (Ni) worlds, six Low population (Lo) worlds, and no Barren (Ba) worlds. The highest population worlds are Giikgi (Gashikan 2622) and Enad (Gashikan 2625). The population consists primarily of 1 sophont group.

Third Empire of Gashikan[edit]
The Third Empire of Gashikan has jurisdiction over all of the worlds with an estimated combined population of 134 billion, a per capita income of Cr4,014, and a total economy of BCr537,901. The governments in the Third Empire of Gashikan maintain 13 Scout bases and five Naval bases within the subsector. The average technology level is 8 (with most between 6 and 10). The highest technology level is 12 at Gugerkhi (Gashikan 2530), Kukush (Gashikan 3227), and Negim (Gashikan 3229).
The Third Empire of Gashikan has an estimated population of 134 billion within the subsector, distributed across three High population (Hi) worlds, three Moderate population (Ph) worlds, 22 Non-industrial (Ni) worlds, six Low population (Lo) worlds, and no Barren (Ba) worlds. The highest population worlds are Giikgi (Gashikan 2622) and Enad (Gashikan 2625). The population consists primarily of 1 sophont group (Humans of largely mixed Vilani-Yilean descent).
Astrographic Features & Trade Routes: 1105[edit]
The following astrographic features and trade routes can be found within this area:
The Nudashiir Lagani[edit]
A number of worlds in the subsector lie on the Nudashiir Lagani, the great Lishun-Gashikan Main.
- An eclectic mix of vessels, both human and Vargr, work their ways along the Main, carrying vast amounts of goods and commodities between its member worlds.
(Chart sourced from Traveller Map)
- Worlds on the Main are highlighted in green.
History & Background (Dossier)[edit]
The Gashikan Empire's Ministry of Information and Safety (MIS) holds much of the power here, albeit unofficially. The Ministry's ostensible mission is to prevent the spread of damaging Vargr propaganda, and to promote peace and unity throughout the Empire. To accomplish these goals, its agents maintain careful control of all news and information.
Demographics[edit]
Significant populations of the following sophont races exist within this subsector:
Note that the three groups above have interbred extensively.
Linguistic Topography[edit]
The following languages are among the most commonly encountered in this astrographic region:
- Anglic: One of the two official languages of the Third Imperium and common to many human worlds; in this region, mostly variant dialects.
- Julian Anglic: An official language of the Julian Protectorate to rimward, and seeing some use in Gashikan.
- Modern Gashikan borrows heavily from Anglic.
- Modern Gashikan: The primary language of the Third Empire of Gashikan, influenced heavily by Anglic and Vilani.
- Vilani: One of the two official languages of the Third Imperium and common to many human worlds.
- Modern Gashikan borrows heavily from Vilani.
- Wawa-pakekeke-wawa: The common, precise and bureaucratic language of the Bwaps. Spoken on Bwap-dominated planets and by government functionaries on any world lucky enough to retain a dedicated Bwap workforce.
