Subsector K of Gashikan Sector.
Description[edit]
This subsector is situated at the heart of the Third Empire of Gashikan.
Summary[edit]
Urshu, subsector K of Gashikan, contains 37 worlds with an estimated combined population of 50 billion, a per capita income of Cr1,388, and a total economy of BCr69,764. These worlds originate an interstellar trade of BCr335 through 29 starports (7 Class A, 8 Class B, 10 Class C, 4 Class D) employing 41,295 people. Driving this interstellar trade are five Agricultural (Ag) worlds, five Non-Agricultural (Na) worlds, three Pre-Agricultural (Pa) worlds, four Pre-Industrial (Pi) worlds, one Rich (Ri) world, and two Industrial (In) worlds. The governments in Urshu maintain nine Scout bases and four Naval bases. The average technology level is 6 (with most between 4 and 9). The highest technology level is 12 at Lishdasu (Gashikan 1725), Argiishdu (Gashikan 2121), and Gaglag (Gashikan 2328).
Urshu, subsector K of Gashikan, contains 64 stars and 401 identified planets; 21 monostellar systems, nine binary systems, four trinary systems, and three systems with four or more stars. 34 of the 37 systems (91%) have native gas giants. There are no Asteroid (As) belts, two Desert (De) worlds, two Garden (Ga) worlds, one Ice-capped (Ic) world, seven Poor (Po) worlds, three Vacuum (Va) worlds, and two Water (Wa) or Ocean (Oc) worlds.
Urshu has an estimated population of 50 billion distributed across four High population (Hi) worlds, three Moderate population (Ph) worlds, 20 Non-industrial (Ni) worlds, six Low population (Lo) worlds, and no Barren (Ba) worlds. The highest population world is Araamaamkur (Gashikan 2024). The population consists primarily of 1 sophont group.

Third Empire of Gashikan[edit]
The Third Empire of Gashikan has jurisdiction over all of the worlds with an estimated combined population of 50 billion, a per capita income of Cr1,388, and a total economy of BCr69,764. The governments in the Third Empire of Gashikan maintain nine Scout bases and four Naval bases within the subsector. The average technology level is 6 (with most between 4 and 9). The highest technology level is 12 at Lishdasu (Gashikan 1725), Argiishdu (Gashikan 2121), and Gaglag (Gashikan 2328).
The Third Empire of Gashikan has an estimated population of 50 billion within the subsector, distributed across four High population (Hi) worlds, three Moderate population (Ph) worlds, 20 Non-industrial (Ni) worlds, six Low population (Lo) worlds, and no Barren (Ba) worlds. The highest population world is Araamaamkur (Gashikan 2024). The population consists primarily of 1 sophont group (Humans of largely mixed Vilani-Yilean descent).

History & Background (Dossier)[edit]
The Gashikan Empire's Ministry of Information and Safety (MIS) holds much of the power here, albeit unofficially. The Ministry's ostensible mission is to prevent the spread of damaging Vargr propaganda, and to promote peace and unity throughout the Empire. To accomplish these goals, its agents maintain careful control of all news and information.
Demographics[edit]
Significant populations of the following sophont races exist within this subsector:
Note that the three groups above have interbred extensively.
Linguistic Topography[edit]
The following languages are among the most commonly encountered in this astrographic region:
- Anglic: One of the two official languages of the Third Imperium and common to many human worlds; in this region, mostly variant dialects.
- Julian Anglic: An official language of the Julian Protectorate to rimward, and seeing some use in Gashikan.
- Modern Gashikan borrows heavily from Anglic.
- Modern Gashikan: The primary language of the Third Empire of Gashikan, influenced heavily by Anglic and Vilani.
- Vilani: One of the two official languages of the Third Imperium and common to many human worlds.
- Modern Gashikan borrows heavily from Vilani.
- Wawa-pakekeke-wawa: The common, precise and bureaucratic language of the Bwaps. Spoken on Bwap-dominated planets and by government functionaries on any world lucky enough to retain a dedicated Bwap workforce.
