While a sophisticated highport facility is maintained for use by local starfaring traffic, the world itself has been left fallow since its colonies were destroyed during the Gashikan Race Wars.

Edinipu has a Class A Starport, an excellent quality installation which includes all the expected amenities including refined fuel for starships, brokerage services for passengers and cargo, and a variety of ship provisions. There is a shipyard capable of doing annual maintenance, overhauls and other kinds of repair, and construction of both starships and non-starships. Most ports of this classification have both a Highport and a Downport.

The Empire of Gashikan launched a scorched-earth policy in what was then known as Macedon Subsector. An ugly, brutal tactic, it was ultimately successful in destroying all Vargr colonies in the subsector within fourteen years. So complete was the victory that Macedon became known as, simply, Gashikan Subsector.
