Mainworld Data[edit]

Mainworld Size (S)[edit]

Gangollghaer is a Meso World between 7,200km and 8,800km in diameter. The world has a standard gravity between 0.4G and 0.57G. The horizon will appear about 4km away.

Mainworld Atmosphere (A)[edit]

Gangollghaer has a pressure of 0.71 to 1.49 atmospheres. A Standard Atmosphere does not require survival gear and will likely be easy for most sophonts to breathe.

Mainworld Hydrosphere (H)[edit]

Gangollghaer has 35-45% of its surface covered by liquid water. There will be a number of small seas or one larger body of water. Wilderness refueling is possible.

Mainworld Geography and Topography[edit]

No centrally held map of the world exists within AAB Library Data records.

History & Background (Dossier)[edit]

Comp-Prog-Dav-R-Deitrick-Starter-Trav-Page-16 16-July-2018a.jpg

Gangollghaer was a victim of the Wolvesbane Project in -1426. A starship, carrying a geneered bioweapon from Gashikan Sector that targeted the Vargr, infected the worlds Downport and spread like wildfire. Scans from orbit the following year confirmed that the quarantine line, in the Terruerr Subsector, had somehow been bypassed. Gangollghaer, like the nearby world of Ekaez, became barren and was declared a Die Back World. For centuries the surface was off-limits, for fear that the plague was still active.

Before its demise Ganghollghaer was home to the Institute of Mysteries, one of six major Psionic Institutes within Gzaekfueg Sector. The Suedzuk (and few Urzaeng) psions based there were unable to save the local population and died trying. The Institute was one of the earliest centers of psionics instruction in Gzaekfueg Sector but it was poorly-funded and never had a sizeable student body. Psionic equipment and aids were imported from Ekaez. It is believed that records and data, though dated, are still contained in the vaults of the Institute. In the right claws, this could prove invaluable.

Gangollghaer remained as a barren world for centuries, though a few scavengers have periodically landed and picked through the forgotten ruins. Ganghollghaer was last rated as TL–10, and the Downport had a rating of B. All indications are that the Wolvesbane plague is no longer present on the world, though fear of it has been a barrier to recolonization. If the world could be resettled it would bring an economic upturn to Terruerr Subsector.

World Starport (St)[edit]

Gangollghaer has a Class B Starport, a good quality installation which includes all the expected amenities including refined fuel for starships, brokerage services for passengers and cargo, and a variety of ship provisions. There is a shipyard capable of doing annual maintenance, overhauls and most kinds of repair, and construction of non-starships. Most ports of this classification have both a Highport and a Downport.

World Population (P)[edit]

Gangollghaer has a population of 20 sophonts (tens).

  • This is a Low Population World and the population would be too low to sustain itself without significant outside assistance. This may represent a transient population such as the crew of a starship, the final survivors of a dying colony, an advance team setting up to receive colonists, or a small outpost where establishing a colony is not the primary objective.
  • The population entirely consists of Vargr.

The current population consists of a few foolhardy scavengers.

World Technology Level (T)[edit]

Gangollghaer possesses a Technology Level of TL–10 or TL-A in Hexadecimal Notation.

World Government (G)[edit]

Gangollghaer has no central government or substantial government apparatus; an Anarchy. The largest governmental structure would be a family, tribe, or single clan. The largest group will be between 50 and 100 individuals, and there may be dozens to hundreds of them. This governmental structure can be stable over long periods of time if the population remains small or geographically separated.

World Law (L)[edit]

Gangollghaer has a low law level. There are few laws, covering only important areas. There may be few or no law enforcement officers, the expectation is citizens will bring law breakers to the attention of the Judicial system. Legal proceedings will be fast, with few people involved. For interactions outside of the framework of the laws, cultural norms dominate. Body pistols, explosives, and poison gas are typically regulated or prohibited.
