Simonides is an industrial, high-population fluidic world with a billion or more sophonts.
- A fluid world has an oceanic geography consisting of heavily contaminated water or a substance such as ammonia, methane, hydrocarbons, or other exotic liquid.
- As an industrial world, this planet has well-developed manufacturing and processing industries. Manufactured goods are a major export item.
- The world serves as the subsector capital with the significant extra trade and prestige associated with that role.
- This is a frozen world, with a climate of extremely low temperatures.
- It is a member of the Solomani Confederation in the Sephi Hydra Subsector of Aldebaran Sector.
Description / Astrography & Planetology
This world is part of the Simonides Run.
Mainworld Data
Simonides is a small-standard world orbiting well outside the life-zone of its small, M-class primary. It is cold, with oceans of liquid methane-ethane. The atmosphere is a dense mixture of nitrogen and methane. A respirator, air supply, and heavy clothing are required outside.
Mainworld Geography & Topography
There is a single large continent of rock and frozen water-ice.
World Demographics
Humaniti 100%
History & Background (Dossier)
Simonides is a member of (and the namesake of) the Simonides Run, a cluster and locally important trade route.
Solomani Security keeps a close eye on things to ensure the security of the Confederation and the well-being of its loyal citizens. Almost anyone could be a SolSec informant, passing on all sorts of useful information: some gain a reward or benefit for their actions, others are coerced, but many see it as an act of duty to help protect the Solomani state and its interests.
