History & Background (Dossier)

Makhidkarun, Sharurshid, and Naasirka were originally regional government agencies providing a broad range of services to the worlds of the First Imperium. When that empire fell (collapsed), the three bureaux transformed themselves into quasi-private companies performing much the same services as before. Over the course of centuries, each has expanded into the others’ territories, and all three are strong competitors throughout the Imperium.

  • Naasirka was thus one of the three original Vilani bureaux. It originated with the Shugilii, the food-preparation caste.
  • It floundered after it found that it could not control food supplies on most worlds it dealt with, but it ultimately became a broad-based organization, emphasizing energy, transport, and luxury goods.
  • The firm's current corporate incarnation is of uncertain lineage, but it is known to have been in business prior to the founding of the Sylean Federation.

Worlds & Sectors (Astrography)

These are a selection of sectors that have a substantial Naasirka presence.

  • Core Sector
    • Reel: This world is a regional manufacturing and development hub for Naasirka.
  • Dagudashaag Sector
    • Diu: In 776, the planet's deep mines were turned into a top-security vault, and a colony was established in the near surface mines by McKellar-Naasirka Security. As a concession to the IISS, a second port was built for non-company use. The only people allowed to say on the planet for more than two weeks are MNS and IISS personnel.
    • Edaridur: This world is governed by Naasirka.
    • Iliika: Naasirka is engaged in legal conflict with the S'mrii of Iliika, who object to the corporation's ownership of the world.
    • Zukalis: In 866, IPP transferred ownership of the moon to Naasirka on the understanding that they would build a public Class-C starport, as required under IPP's original charter. Instead Naasirka immediately began work converting the deep mines into a substantial settlement. Naasirka then transferred the head offices of its entire sector wide financial and insurance services to Zukalis. The world's primary function is to house the administration center for the Naasirka-Mehdaat Insurance Consortium, the largest insurance underwriters in the sector and the sector registry of shipping, and the central clearing house for Banque de Dagudashaag. Due to the sector-wide importance of the two companies, every other major insurance and banking institution in the sector has found it necessary to also set up offices.
  • Solomani Rim Sector
    • Luna (the proper name for Terra's single large satellite, though most locals simply call it "The Moon"): Clavius Crater on Luna is the site of a high-technology industrial park producing electronic and gravitic components, vacuum-process equipment, and thin-film devices. It is currently operated by GSbAG. Clavius Particle Research Complex is run jointly by the Imperial Navy and Naasirka. Current research is highly classified.
