Talon is an industrial world with a scarcity of water and a relatively sparse atmosphere. The system has a population over one billion. It is a member of United Followers of Augurgh in the Million Subsector of Deneb Sector.
- This world hosts a Corsair Base.
- This world has a nearby Naval Base, with support for military starships. This is the homeworld of the Souggvuez, a Minor Race. They are 80% of the world's population. 20% of the world's population is the Major Race Vargr.

Era: New Era
Zuekzrekhgal has both an unbreathably thin atmosphere and a lack of surface water making habitation by sophonts difficult. The system has a population between 10,000 and 10 million, lacking the industrial base to be completely self-supporting. It is a member of Wilds in the Million Subsector of Deneb Sector. This is the homeworld of the Souggvuez, a Minor Race. They are 20% of the world's population. 80% of the world's population is the Major Race Vargr.
Description (Astrography & Planetology)[edit]
- Talon is a cold planet on the outer edge of the habitable zone, notable as the homeworld of the Souggvuez, a marshland-dwelling Minor Race.
- This world is part of the Talon's Claw.

Mainworld Data[edit]
No information yet available.
Mainworld Size (S)[edit]
Talon is a Meso World between 7,200km and 8,800km in diameter. The world has a standard gravity between 0.4G and 0.57G. The horizon will appear about 4km away.
Mainworld Atmosphere (A)[edit]
Talon has a pressure of 0.43 to 0.70 atmospheres. While the thin atmosphere does not require survival gear this atmosphere also contains an unusual taint such as disease, a hazardous gas mix, pollutants, or sulfur compounds which requires the use of a Filter Mask. Some taints may require more protective equipment. TL–3 or more advanced survival gear is required to settle this world.
Mainworld Hydrosphere (H)[edit]
Talon has 25-35% of its surface covered by liquid water. It has a few small seas. Wilderness refueling is possible. Water for the inhabitants will be recycled.
Mainworld Topography and Geography[edit]
Satellites[edit]
Native Lifeforms[edit]
Abundant native life occupying every available ecological niche. Its metabolic functions drive the process of atmospheric renewal.
Native Sophont (NIL): Souggvuez[edit]
A race whose social structure is reminiscent of the Vargr, being essentially charisma-based, they are equal partners with the Vargr colonists.
History & Background (Dossier)[edit]
World Starport (St)[edit]
Talon has a Class C Starport, an average quality installation which features amenities including unrefined fuel for starships, some brokerage services for passengers and cargo, and a variety of ship provisions. There is a shipyard capable of doing maintenance and other kinds of repair. Ports of this classification generally have only a downport, unless this is a trade port or system with an hostile environment mainworld.
- Vargr starports reflect the variety of Vargr architecture, with many disparate styles of building, each having their own unique ornamentation and gaudy colour scheme, and all competing for the attention of the onlooker. Emblems for the major shipping lines and port facilities abound.
World Population (P)[edit]
Talon has a population of 2,000,000,000 sophonts (billions).
- High Population Worlds like this tend to have huge consumer markets.
World Demographics[edit]
Rebellion[edit]
According to some reports, the majority of Souggvuez died during the fall of the United Followers of Augurgh to Virus attack in 1143. Later accounts point to a population recovery; though the initial losses may have been exaggerated, it is certain that the death toll was high.
New Era[edit]
Talon was a world that was a base for Vargr ships during the Dreamtime and, as a result, the Vargr proportion of the population increased even as the Souggvuez population slowly recovered.
1900[edit]
The Empress Wave reversed the population trends; the fact that Souggvuez are the native population won out in the recovery period.
As late as 1900, Vargr and Souggvuez share the planet.
World Government (G)[edit]
Talon has a Balkanized Government. There is no central world government. The world has several governments competing for control of the world. These may be allies, cooperating, competitors, or at war with each other.
Talon still has a dozen sovereign states, with varying ratios of Vargr to Souggvuez, and a number of coordinating agencies to foster cooperation without surrendering sovereignty. Wars are fought over policy and control of seats on coordinating agencies, rather than territory.
Early History[edit]
The Souggvuez ran their own affairs as an isolated world until -300. Thereafter, there was contact with Vargr Corsairs, traders and cultural emissaries.
By 100, Talon was Capital of a small Vargr state, the Ksekgizoksdhaerzluenoe, in Million Subsector[2]. By 210 this state had partially dissolved[3], but Talon was still able to maintain political unity with neighbouring Unekh (Deneb 2603) and Fosfog (Deneb 2702). The Vargr Campaigns broke up this state[4] and the world proceeded independently, but as part of the Aekhu Vargr culture, until the United Followers of Augurgh were formed.
1090s to 1140s[edit]
With 2 billion inhabitants, Talon is the most populated world in the subsector. It is also the most important world in the subsector of a small Vargr-controlled federation of worlds called the United Followers of Augurgh, the capital of which is at Augurgh (Tuglikki 3037).
After 1143[edit]
The collapse of the United Followers of Augurgh at the hands of Virus sees the world as an independent polity struggling for survival in a very hostile environment. It was subject to attacks and basing by the Red Pelts in the later-1140s.
Milieu 1900[edit]
The planet had collapsed as a result of the Empress Wave in 1202. The Vargr population found the environment hard going and suffered particularly badly, but a remnant of the Souggvuez managed to struggle through and survive in its native environment.
The world has been attractive to the few traders that hopped the wave and their post-disaster fleets. Some of these have settled on the world and found that the old affinity between Vargr and Souggvuez remains.
World Law Level (L)[edit]
Talon has a moderate level with laws covering many areas of government and interaction. These laws are simple enough that most people can act as their own advocate, though for serious issues a professional is recommended. Law enforcement officials will be present, but not in great numbers. All firearms except shotguns, and anything more destructive, are typically regulated or prohibited.
World Technology Level (TL)[edit]
Talon possesses a Technology Level of TL–10 or TL-A in Hexadecimal Notation.
- Common Communication technologies for this TL include: Holovision, Personal Global Communications, and advanced Translators.
- Common Power Generation technologies for this TL include: Increasingly advanced fusion plants and advanced fuel cells.
- Common Transportation technologies for this TL include:
- Land & Water: Grav belts and maturing gravcraft.
- Air: Greatly improved hybrid grav-aircraft.
- Space: Improved interplanetary spacecraft (System Craft).
- FTL: Jump Drive-1.
