Zed Cluster
The Zed Cluster is a group of worlds lying across the coreward border between Ilelish Sector and Zarushagar Sector.
- It is an astrographic feature and a trade route.
- It is also known as the Haleakala Arc.
Description / Specifications[edit]
The Zed Cluster is a group of worlds straddling the border between Ilelish Sector and Zarushagar Sector.
- It has 12 member systems. It is named for Zed, a major Imperial military base.
- Its systems are evenly divided between Ilelish Subsector of Ilelish Sector and Ibaru Subsector of Zarushagar Sector.

The Network[edit]
The Network is an informal name given to the web of mains that terminate within Zarushagar Sector and the various major Clusters that lie between them.
- The Zed Cluster is not considered to be part of The Network.
Being associated with The Network lends a region and the worlds it contains a certain gravitas.

Security & Defense[edit]
The worlds of the region are patrolled by the Imperial 166th Fleet in Ilelish Sector and the Imperial 41st Fleet in Zarushagar Sector. They defend Imperial territory, suppress piracy, and ensure trade and commerce.
- Ships from each of the two fleets regularly cross into each others areas of operations. Cooperation between the two organizations is good.

The Cluster is a trade route. High cargo capacity, low jump rating vessels move along it, carrying vast amounts of goods and commodities between its member worlds.

Significant populations of the following races (sophont species) reside within this astrographic feature:
- Humaniti (Human races)
- Mixed heritage (Major Race): widely spread across the Cluster.
- Solomani (Major Race): many genetically distinct individuals and communities.
- Suerrat (Minor Human Race): encountered throughout the Cluster.
- Vilani (Major Race): many genetically distinct individuals and communities.
- Non-human races
- Tentrassi (Minor Race): primarily found on Shadishi but encountered in small numbers throughout the Cluster.
Linguistic Topography[edit]
The most commonly heard languages are:
- Anglic, one of the two official languages of the Imperium.
- Na'ans: the most widely spoken Suerrat language.
- Native Tentrassi languages.
- Vilani: one of the two official languages of the Imperium.
- Yaudal, a commonly spoken Suerrat language.
