The Social Calendar of the Duchy of Regina is a framework of interlocking events that have developed through the years and give structure to the Duke's itinerary and that of many Nobles and Corporation executives in the subsector and beyond.
Description (Specifications)[edit]
The Duchy of Regina (and prior to that the County of Regina) has had 600 years to form a complex social calendar - added to and deducted from as particular events have changed the composition and importance of the region. It has been disrupted by War, Change of leadership, and the rise and fall of great Corporations. Not every event will occur every year, or even in the same place every year.
History & Background (Dossier)[edit]
The history of the Social Calendar is that of the County and Duchy.
Example Calendar (1105)[edit]
Note that the wars on Efate (Spinward Marches 1705) and Feri (Spinward Marches 2005) make visits to those worlds by the whole Ducal court impractical for security reasons.
The Duke of Regina made a visit to Mora (Spinward Marches 3124) this year to visit the Sector Capital, for a conference with the Duchess of Mora and meetings with the Duke of Rhylanor on route. He returned in company with the Duke of Rhylanor for part of the juornay back. He Departed 114-1105, arrived 184-1105 and returned between 256-1105 and 359-1105. The time required for such travels accounts for the concentration of duties in the Duchy's calendar in the early part of the year. This trip was only possible in a year because the Duke and his staff had access to Jump-4 capable vessels for the convoy.

[a] While the Duke of Regina has no right to award Imperial knighthoods, Baronets, Baronries, Marquisates, Vicounties or Counties, various person who have been awarded such honours may not be able to travel to the Capital to have them awarded in person. In these cases, the Duke acts as viceroy for the Emperor at an Investiture Ceremony when the award of Knighthood is officially presented to the person concerned. There is an annual ceremony for the more usual creations, but ad-hoc investitures may also occur. This role would normally be undertaken by the Domain's Archduke, but the Domain of Deneb had no such person in 1105.
