The Regina Regatta is a celebration of Watercraft held annually on Regina

Description (Specifications)[edit]

The Regina Regatta is an annual celebration of Watercraft held between 026 and 028 each year on Regina and culminating with the Jewell "Glittering" Ball that evening.

The event includes displays of ancient craft from various locations, races of Rowing Boats and Punts, a lavish display of boats for sale and all held on Lake Jewell at the County of Jewell's estate outside Credo. It should be noted that this is the only period when the estate opens any part of its gardens to the public, and that no boat with a motor is permitted onto the lake other than those of the race officials.

The highlight of the first day's racing is the Six Sisters inter-university boat race.

The highlight of the final day's racing is the Diamond Cup open challenge race, a race with a prize fund of Cr 250,000. The winner also gains admission to the evening's entertainments.

Both major races are recorded for media distribution throughout the Spinward Marches. Traditionally, the Six Sisters inter-university boat race is a cause for many a small sweepstake in the workplaces of Regina, especially in Credo.

Administration and Entries[edit]

The patron for the event is the County of Jewell, but the main organisational work is undertaken by a committee of administrators on Regina. Applicants for the races should have their entry in by close of business of 337 of the previous year.
