Prinx has a population between 10,000 and 10 million sophonts, lacking the industrial base to be completely self-supporting. It is a Human dominated Non-Aligned world in the Querion Subsector of Spinward Marches Sector.
Description (Astrography & Planetology)[edit]
Stellar Data[edit]
Prinx is a binary star system.
- The primary is a blue-white main sequence.
- The primary is an orange main sequence.
System Data[edit]
The worlds of the system have been surveyed. They consist of:
- The mainworld.
- x8 secondary rocky worlds.
- x4 gas giants.
Mainworld Data[edit]
Much of Prinx's surface is entirely uninhabitable. With such a thin atmosphere, mountains tend not to be eroded and remain sharp-toothed barriers to exploration. There is less soil than on worlds with thicker atmospheres and while this does not greatly affect life in the valleys, highlands tend to be stark and rugged, with little or no vegetation. The surface temperature is also low on average, so that in many areas seas freeze to a considerable depth and ice caps cover the land.
It orbits within its star's habitable zone.
- It receives moderate levels of stellar energy.
Mainworld Size (S)[edit]
Prinx is a Meso World between 5,600km and 7,200km in diameter. The world has low gravity between 0.32G and 0.46G. The horizon will appear about 3.6km away.
Mainworld Atmosphere (A)[edit]
Prinx has a pressure of 0.10 to 0.42 atmospheres. The very thin pressures require a respirator or Oxygen Mask. TL–5 or more advanced survival gear is required to settle this world.
- It experiences relatively low temperatures.
Mainworld Hydrosphere (H)[edit]
Prinx has 55-65% of its surface covered by liquid water. It has significant large liquid bodies. Wilderness refueling is possible.
Mainworld Geography and Topography[edit]
No centrally held map of the world exists within AAB Library Data records.
(Blank map, predominantly watery world.)
History & Background (Dossier)[edit]
Prinx was originally settled by the Imperium and, much later, became nominally part of the Zhodani Consulate. In 1070 the civil government ruined the world economy by building a Class C Starport with Zhodani help. A military junta stepped in with popular support, banned psionics, expelled the Zhodani, and nationalized the starport. Prinx has been independent ever since.
Zhodani merchant ships and occasional military patrols out of Sansibar (Spinward Marches 0412) come through the port from time to time. Imperial ships are less common, though they are not unknown, and Darrian vessels are increasingly frequent.
World Starport (St)[edit]
Prinx has a Class C Starport, an average quality installation which features amenities including unrefined fuel for starships, some brokerage services for passengers and cargo, and a variety of ship provisions. There is a shipyard capable of doing maintenance and other kinds of repair. Ports of this classification generally have only a downport, unless this is a trade port or system with an hostile environment mainworld.
World Population (P)[edit]
Prinx has a population of 7,000,000 sophonts (millions).
- This is a Nonindustrial World, too small to support the complete chain of production of most goods from start to finish.
Linguistic Topography[edit]
The most commonly heard languages are:
- Anglic, one of the two principal languages of the Imperium.
- Vilani, one of the two principal languages of the Imperium.
- Zdetl, the language of the Zhodani Consulate.
World Technology Level (T)[edit]
Prinx possesses a Technology Level of TL–6.
- Common Communication technologies for this TL include: Telephone, radio, and television.
- Common Power Generation technologies for this TL include: Early fission power generation, advanced water and wind generation of electricity.
- Common Transportation technologies for this TL include:
- Land: Improved automobiles, early ATV's, and dedicated AFV's.
- Water: Amphibious vehicles, improved submersibles, and early SCUBA gear.
- Air: Early jet aircraft and rotorcraft VTOL's.
- Space: Early unmanned rocket delivery systems and early manned orbital rockets.
World Government (G)[edit]
Prinx is governed by Self-Perpetuating Oligarchy. A single family or small group provides the leadership and important positions in the government. These positions are inherited by member of the group or their family members. The organization may be a monarchy, with titles passed to family members, or a plutocracy where inheritance of the family fortune includes government position. Alternatively, the organization may be a more typical government apparatus, only with positions of power inherited.
World Law (L)[edit]
Prinx has a moderate level with laws covering many areas of government and interaction. These laws are simple enough that most people can act as their own advocate, though for serious issues a professional is recommended. Law enforcement officials will be present, but not in great numbers. Personal concealable firearms, and anything more destructive, are typically regulated or prohibited.
