System Data[edit]

The worlds of the system have been surveyed. They consist of:

Mainworld Data[edit]

Ougzdaelzoerrgh orbits within the prime region of its star's habitable zone.

Mainworld Size (S)[edit]

Ougzdaelzoerrgh is a Meso World between 12,000km and 13,500km in diameter. The world has a standard gravity between 0.8G and 1.1G. The horizon will appear about 5.1km away. Vessels with 1G of thrust should check with local starport authorities before attempting to land using emergency power.

Mainworld Atmosphere (A)[edit]

Ougzdaelzoerrgh has a pressure of 1.50 to 2.49 atmospheres. While a Dense Atmosphere requires no survival gear this atmosphere also contains an unusual taint such as disease, a hazardous gas mix, pollutants, or sulfur compounds which requires the use of a Filter Mask. Some taints may require more protective equipment. TL–3 or more advanced survival gear is required to settle this world.

Mainworld Hydrosphere (H)[edit]

Ougzdaelzoerrgh has 85-95% of its surface covered by liquid water with a few small continents, and a number of islands and archipelagos. Dry land is limited. Wilderness refueling is possible.

  • Huge storms, often thousands of kilometers across, surge across the oceans.

Mainworld Geography and Topography[edit]

No centrally held map of the world exists within AAB Library Data records.

  • Locally, detailed maps may be available.

Native Lifeforms[edit]

Abundant native life occupying every available ecological niche. Its metabolic functions drive the process of atmospheric renewal.

Life has existed on the world for hundreds of millions of years, long enough for the remains of primordial plants to transform into seams of coal.

History & Background (Dossier)[edit]

Comp-Prog-Dav-R-Deitrick-Starter-Trav-Page-16 16-July-2018a.jpg

Ougzdaelzoerrgh is a minor Vargr world originally settled by outcasts and runts. The system serves as a gateway between the Imperium and the Vargr Extents: it has earned a dubious reputation as a place where smugglers and pirates can easily vanish, disappearing into the depths of the Extents.

The world's government has recently signed a contract with Oberlindes Lines, allowing them to use the starport as a supply depot and trading post. Imperial naval patrols are frequently active within the system, checking for contraband and other restricted items and gathering intelligence.

There has been a notable upsurge in physical assaults, with native Vargr who see themselves as disadvantaged on their own world lashing out against humans and other non-Vargr sophonts: visitors are urged to exercise caution.

World Starport (St)[edit]

Ougzdaelzoerrgh has a Class A Starport, an excellent quality installation which includes all the expected amenities including refined fuel for starships, brokerage services for passengers and cargo, and a variety of ship provisions. There is a shipyard capable of doing annual maintenance, overhauls and other kinds of repair, and construction of both starships and non-starships. Most ports of this classification have both a Highport and a Downport.

The port has recently been upgraded from a Class B facility, largely through investment from Oberlindes Lines.

World Population (P)[edit]

Ougzdaelzoerrgh has a population of 8,000 sophonts (thousands).

  • This is a Low Population World and the population would be too low to sustain itself without a little outside assistance. This may represent the home base of a sizable but mostly transient population such as the base of a major starship expedition, the last generation of a dying colony, the first generation of a new colony, or a large outpost that will probably evolve into a colony if not stopped.
  • More than 95% of the population consists of Vargr.
  • An offworld population lives within the so-called Human District, a small region within the world's only major city.

Linguistic Topography[edit]

The most widely spoken language is a form of Gvegh.

World Technology Level (T)[edit]

Ougzdaelzoerrgh possesses a Technology Level of TL–11 or TL-B in Hexadecimal Notation.

Areas beyond the starport, the startown, and the Human District have a far lower level of technology, equivalent to around TL–4. Locally mined coal is the main power source.

World Government (G)[edit]

Ougzdaelzoerrgh is governed by Self-Perpetuating Oligarchy. A single family or small group provides the leadership and important positions within the government. These positions are inherited by members of the group or by their relatives. The organization may be a monarchy, with titles passed to family members, or a plutocracy where inheritance of the family fortune includes government position. Alternatively, the organization may be a more typical government apparatus, only with positions of power inherited.

World Law (L)[edit]

Ougzdaelzoerrgh has a moderate level with laws covering many areas of government and interaction. These laws are simple enough that most people can act as their own advocate, though for serious issues a professional is recommended. Law enforcement officials will be present, but not in great numbers. Personal concealable firearms, and anything more destructive, are typically regulated or prohibited.

  • Oberlindes Lines corporate security, in accordance with the company's trade agreement, polices the Human District.
