• This world has few prospects for economic development.
• It is a member of the Voekhaeb Society in the Khuulu Subsector of Meshan Sector, which is part of the Vargr Extents.

• This world is a "Twilight Zone World", a planet that is tidally-locked to its star. It has a hot side that permanently faces the star, a cold side that permanently faces away, and a narrow twilight zone in-between.
• It is a member of the Nudashiir Lagani.

Onlek has a pressure of 0.10 to 0.42 atmospheres. The very thin pressures require a respirator or Oxygen Mask. TL–5 or more advanced survival gear is required to settle this world.

Mainworld Hydrosphere (H)

Onlek has 25-35% of its surface covered by liquid water. It has a few small seas. Wilderness refueling is possible. Water for the inhabitants will be recycled.

History & Background (Dossier)

Onlek was claimed by the Vilani millennia ago and was eventually absorbed into the Ziru Sirka. It was nominally under the authority of the Rule of Man prior to the Long Night.

• It has ruins and remains on its surface dating to before the founding of the Ziru Sirka.

It is a member of the Nudashiir Lagani, the great Lishun-Gashikan Main.

• An eclectic mix of vessels, both human and Vargr, work their ways along the Main, carrying vast amounts of goods and commodities between its member worlds.

Onlek has a Class C Starport, an average quality installation which includes amenities including unrefined fuel for starships, some brokerage services for passengers and cargo, and a variety of ship provisions. There is a shipyard capable of doing maintenance and other kinds of repair. Ports of this classification generally have only a downport, unless this is a trade port or system with an hostile environment mainworld.

Onlek has a population of 20,000 sophonts (tens of thousands).

• -4045 to -2204: the Ziru Sirka claims and settles worlds across the region.
• -3810: the Vargr discover jump technology and begin an era of expansion.
• -3700s onwards: waves of Vargr settle worlds across the region.
• -2204 to -1776: the Rule of Man nominally administers the rimward worlds of the region. Conflicts escalate between Vargr and humans as the Vargr occupy former Ziru Sirka territory.
• -1776 to 0: the Long Night. There is widespread regression within the area and some worlds become barren.
• -1658: the Sack of Gashikan, an atrocity known throughout the coreward parts of Charted Space.
• -1427: the Wolvesbane plague is released in Gashikan Sector, decimating Vargr populations.
• The Year 0: to rimward, the Third Imperium is founded.
• circa 26: the Empire of Varroerth is founded.
• circa 170: the various Ruler of Five precursor states begin a centuries-long war of dominance.
• 300-420: the Imperial First Survey charts the system.

• circa 1040: the 17th Disjuncture is founded and rapidly brings neutral worlds under its banner, directly competing with the Ngath Confederation.
• 1065: the Second Survey is published. Information about the system becomes widely available.
• 1078: the Third Empire of Gashikan forms.
