Noriega Subsector is Subsector F of Iphigenaia Sector.
- It lies within Charted Space.
- On some star charts it may be named Theda Gap Subector.
Description (Specifications)[edit]
The coreward half of Noriega Subsector is an unpopulated wilderness that rarely sees visitors. The rimward half of the subsector has been settled for centuries.
- The older name is found on Solomani star charts dating to the Rule of Man, before the Long Night.
- The resources of the worlds lying to coreward are completely untapped.
- To rimward there is development and industry.
- There is regular trade and commerce among the rimward worlds.
Astrographic Features & Trade Routes[edit]
The following astrographic and commercial data has been determined regarding Noriega Subsector:
- The subsector is a lower stellar density region.
- The brightest star is the red bright giant primary of the Morostal system.
- No trade routes are noted as crossing the region.
Stellar Distribution[edit]
A basic map showing the distribution and size of stars within Noriega Subsector.
- The color corresponds to the visible color of the star, which links to its spectral classification.
- The size as shown indicates both the physical size of the object and its relative brightness.
(Chart sourced from Traveller Map).
Note that the stars as depicted are representative. Any star, no matter what its size, is a mere speck within the hex it occupies.
- Ordinary main sequence stars can barely be seen from even a hex away.
- Huge, intensely luminous giant stars can be seen from across the subsector and far beyond.
Rift Regions[edit]
One rift area lies within the subsector: the Theda-Spin.
- It occupies the trailing part of the subsector.
- It is considered to be the spinward part of a larger void known as the Efusa Rift: this is occasionally referred to as the Theda Gap.
- It is part of The Gulfs, a complex of smaller rifts and voids that form part of the Idella Rift.
- The subsector lies on the edge of the Great Rift.

Locally at least, a rift is an astrographic concept based on Jump Drive performance.
The highest tech level commonly encountered out this Far Along (spinward of the Third Imperium) is TL–12, though a few worlds may be more advanced.
- This level of technology allows the routine use of up to Jump-3 drives.
- Areas that cannot be crossed by Jump-3-capable vessels are denoted as rifts.
Borealis Group[edit]
The Borealis Group can be seen as a bright, dense, noticeable grouping of stars in the skies to Spinward.
- It is a huge cluster of stars centered on the supergiant Theta Borealis.
- It is a distinctive astrographic feature that can be observed from all across Charted Space.
World Listing[edit]
Comprehensive Second Survey data for all worlds lying within Noriega Subsector is available.
- The primary source material for all data is Traveller Map.
- Other sources may differ: some elements of the data may be contradictory or incorrect.
- Data is occasionally updated as new information becomes available.
- Scouting missions gathering reliable, verified data can receive substantial payment.
AAB library archives contain expanded data about the following systems:
Note that some Second Survey data, though only 40 years old, may already be out of date.
- Verified updated data is constantly sought.
History & Background (Dossier)[edit]
Noriega Subsector is a remote but settled region with a long history of introversion and isolationism.
Its rimward systems formed part of an ancient Muirimi state called the Republic of Georgia.
(Chart sourced from Traveller Map)
The Muirimi were citizens of the Old Earth Union, in the Solomani Rim, during the Long Night. Their culture was centered on the religious belief of Sitaraism: they gained considerable antipathy due to their views on possessions, private ownership, and territorial rights. They fled Terra aboard a number of large starships during the -200s and somehow made it across Charted Space, finally settling in the isolated wildernesses of Iphigenaia Sector and Theron Sector sometime around -100.
The Republic of Georgia was founded around the year 50. It survived almost unchanged for around a millennia before surrendering its independence to form the Regency, in order to better deal with the growing Aslan menace in the region.
Polity Listing[edit]

Native Sophonts[edit]
The following races (sophont species) are believed to have originated in this area:
- Namri of Namri. Hard-shelled, streamlined, multi-armed aquatic carnivores from a storm-wracked water world.
Demographics[edit]
Significant populations of the following races (sophont species) reside within this subsector:
- Non-Human Races
- Namri: 90 million on one world.
Most of the human population are followers of Sitaraism.
Linguistic Topography[edit]
Member worlds of the Regency of Muirimi speak Naiurdu as their primary language.
- Riftian Anglic is also widely spoken.
Major Historical Events Timeline[edit]
- ca -1900: The first known human explorers are active in the region (a few Terrans of the Rule of Man). They largely continue to spinward.
- -1776: The Long Night begins.
- ca -100: Solomani religious exiles settle within the subsector.
- Year 0: Far to trailing, across the Great Rift, the Third Imperium is founded.
- 100s-200s: A few pioneering Imperial explorers pass through the subsector, making contact with long-isolated worlds and cultures. The Muirimi peoples generally avoid contact.
- ca 200: The Republic of Georgia is founded.
- 300-420: The First Survey charts the subsector.
- 995-1065: The Second Survey charts the subsector.
- ca 1000: Aslan scouts and pioneers begin to appear in the region.
- 1050: The Regency of Muirimi is founded.
- 1060s: The Aslan establish settlements within the sector.
