• At the founding of the Imperium this world was known as Anvla I.

Ketola has a pressure of 0.43 to 0.70 atmospheres. The Thin Atmosphere does not require survival gear although it may be hard on sophonts not accustomed to it.

Ketola has 35-45% of its surface covered by liquid water. There will be a number of small seas or one larger body of water. Wilderness refueling is possible.

Native Lifeforms

Ketola's native life consists mostly of primitive but abundant photosynthetic plants and largely microscopic animals, which are found all across the world's vast, icy plains. The major corporate interests on the planet engage in research of these lifeforms, particular extraction of rare earth elements that naturally occur in their bodies.

History & Background (Dossier)

Ketola is a member of the Khisham Cluster, a minor trade route in the central-coreward part of Massilia Sector.

At the dawn of the Imperium the world had no permanent population. Facilities were being constructed and infrastructure was being emplaced, funded by speculators and investors in anticipation of large-scale settlement and commercial development and designed to give the world a predetermined basic Tech Level. There were often hundreds of personnel and specialists working or operating within the system, but they were not considered residents.

The rivalry between the two major corporate concerns active on this world – Theedin Research and Tenia Incorporated – results in frequent local trade wars. The non-corporate nation-state of Keto, which has been inconvenienced and embarrassed by the two corporations on multiple occasions, as well as thousands of nomads who have suffered due to the businesses' laissez-faire attitude towards territorial and social rights, complicate things for corporate workers.

World Starport (St)

Ketola has a Class B Starport, a good quality installation which includes all the expected amenities including refined fuel for starships, brokerage services for passengers and cargo, and a variety of ship provisions. There is a shipyard capable of doing annual maintenance, overhauls and most kinds of repair, and construction of non-starships. Most ports of this classification have both a Highport and a Downport.

World Population (P)

Ketola has a population of 8,000 sophonts (thousands).

• This is a Low Population World and the population would be too low to sustain itself without a little outside assistance. This may represent the home base of a sizable but mostly transient population such as the base of a major starship expedition, the last generation of a dying colony, the first generation of a new colony, or a large outpost that will probably evolve into a colony if not stopped.

These laws are simple enough that most people can act as their own advocate, though for serious issues a professional is recommended. Law enforcement officials will be present, but not in great numbers. All firearms, and anything more destructive, are typically regulated or prohibited.
