System Data[edit]

The worlds of the system have been surveyed. They consist of:

Mainworld Data[edit]

Mainworld Size (S)[edit]

Dokh is a Big World between 13,600km and 15,200km in diameter. The world has a standard gravity between 1G and 1.3G. The horizon will appear about 5.4km away. Vessels with only 1G of thrust should avoid landing on this world.

Mainworld Atmosphere (A)[edit]

Dokh has a pressure of 1.50 to 2.49 atmospheres. While a Dense Atmosphere requires no survival gear this atmosphere also contains an unusual taint such as such as disease, a hazardous gas mix, pollutants, or sulfur compounds which requires the use of a Filter Mask. Some taints may require more protective equipment. TL–3 or more advanced survival gear is required to settle this world.

Mainworld Hydrosphere (H)[edit]

Dokh has 65-75% of its surface covered by liquid water. It has significant large liquid bodies. Wilderness refueling is possible.

Mainworld Geography and Topography[edit]

No centrally held map of the world exists within AAB Library Data records.

History & Background (Dossier)[edit]

Dokh declares itself to be a member of the Society of Equals, a Vargr polity in Gvurrdon Sector. It shares many of that state's broad political and ethical views.

It is part of the Dokh Cluster, an important local astrographic feature and trade route.

  • Worlds lying within the Cluster are highlighted in tan.

World Starport (St)[edit]

Dokh has a Class A Starport, an excellent quality installation which includes all the expected amenities including refined fuel for starships, brokerage services for passengers and cargo, and a variety of ship provisions. There is a shipyard capable of doing annual maintenance, overhauls and other kinds of repair, and construction of both starships and non-starships. Most ports of this classification have both a Highport and a Downport.

  • The world is host to a Vargr Naval Base.
  • Vargr starports reflect the variety of Vargr architecture, with many disparate styles of building, each having their own unique ornamentation and gaudy colour scheme, and all competing for the attention of the onlooker. Emblems for the major shipping lines and port facilities abound.

World Population (P)[edit]

Dokh has a population of 3,000,000,000 sophonts (billions).

World Technology Level (T)[edit]

Dokh possesses a Technology Level of TL–12 or TL-C in Hexadecimal Notation.

World Government (G)[edit]

Dokh has a Balkanized Government. There is no central world government. The world has several governments competing for control of the world. These may be allies, cooperating, competitors, or at war with each other.

World Law (L)[edit]

Dokh has a high law level with laws covering many areas of interactions of people, corporations, and the government. A few worlds with this law level may be Amber Zones. Any interaction with the judicial system requires an Advocate trained in the local legal system. Law enforcement is present almost everywhere, either as people or via technology. Legal proceedings can take weeks to months to resolve and involve a dozen or more people. All blade weapons and firearms, and anything more destructive, are typically regulated or prohibited.

Trade Data[edit]

  • Importance: 4 (important)

World Economy[edit]

  • Resources: F (extremely abundant)
  • Labor: 8 (hundreds of millions)
  • Infrastructure: F (very comprehensive)
  • Efficiency: +4 (advanced)

The Society of Equals is primarily built on free trade between member worlds, which are encouraged to foster trade relations with one another. With the exception of locally determined contraband, embargos between member worlds are forbidden. Refusing trade of legal goods from another member imposes fines. Note that Dokh's membership status is a grey area, as in practice (and by virtue of its position in Bakne Alliance territory) it is really a neutral world.

World Culture[edit]

  • Heterogenity: 9 (discordant)
  • Acceptance: D (very xenophilic)
  • Strangeness: 5 (distinct)
  • Symbols: C (very abstract)
