- It is a member of the Third Imperium in the Ten Suns Subsector of Massilia Sector in the Domain of Sylea.
- This world has a research station engaged in the scientific pursuit of knowledge.
- During the Long Night this world was named Lamgupuuan.
- This world is undergoing extensive Terraforming.

This star system is judged to be a very young one - less than 1 Gyr in age – and planets are still contracting and sweeping up asteroidal debris.

Mainworld Size (S)[edit]
Dezik is a Big World between 13,600km and 15,200km in diameter. The world has a standard gravity between 1G and 1.3G. The horizon will appear about 5.4km away. Vessels with only 1G of thrust should avoid landing on this world.
Mainworld Atmosphere (A)[edit]
Dezik has a pressure of 2.5 or greater atmospheres. A Dense & High Pressure Atmosphere typically requires no survival gear under many conditions. Pressure at or below sea level is too great to support life but the atmosphere may be breathable at higher altitudes. TL–5 or more advanced survival gear is required to settle this world.
- It experiences very low temperatures.
Mainworld Hydrosphere (H)[edit]
Dezik has 75-85% of its surface covered by vast sheets of ice. Wilderness refueling is possible. Water for the inhabitants can be got by mining and melting ice.
- The water is kept liquid below the outer icy shell by pressure and the planet's internal heat.
- At deeper levels the waters transform into hot high-pressure exotic ices and clathrates.

History & Background (Dossier)[edit]
When it was first surveyed, Dezik was judged to be an evolving sub-gas giant. However, over the course of nearly a millennia, the atmosphere has rapidly changed, shifting from its previous corrosive status to its present exotic, high density, high pressure, hydrogen-rich state. It now appears to be forming into a large but generally conventional world.
- There is some suspicion that the changes to the atmosphere may have been "engineered" rather than happening naturally.
Point of Interest: Research Station[edit]
The unparalleled opportunity to study the processes of planet formation brought the original scientific colony to Dezik. Soon after the founding of the Imperium it was declared to be the sector's Research Station Epsilon. While it started as a small facility with less than a hundred staff, it has since grown to about 2,500 sophonts from several cooperating races.
The research station no longer receives Imperial funding or support, entirely relying on private interests to maintain its existence. Since the publication of the Second Survey in 1065, it has no longer been marked as an Imperial facility on star charts.
- Some believe that its Imperial funding and support was withdrawn as a result of unsanctioned atmospheric terraforming experiments.
World Starport (St)[edit]
Dezik has a Class A Starport, an excellent quality installation which includes all the expected amenities including refined fuel for starships, brokerage services for passengers and cargo, and a variety of ship provisions. There is a shipyard capable of doing annual maintenance, overhauls and other kinds of repair, and construction of both starships and non-starships. Most ports of this classification have both a Highport and a Downport.
World Population (P)[edit]
Dezik has a population of 6,000 sophonts (thousands).
- This is a Low Population World and the population would be too low to sustain itself without a little outside assistance. This may represent the home base of a sizable but mostly transient population such as the base of a major starship expedition, the last generation of a dying colony, the first generation of a new colony, or a large outpost that will probably evolve into a colony if not stopped.

Dezik is governed by Self-Perpetuating Oligarchy. A single family or small group provides the leadership and important positions within the government. These positions are inherited by members of the group or by their relatives. The organization may be a monarchy, with titles passed to family members, or a plutocracy where inheritance of the family fortune includes government position. Alternatively, the organization may be a more typical government apparatus, only with positions of power inherited.
World Law (L)[edit]
Dezik has a low law level. There are few laws, covering only important areas. There may be few or no law enforcement officers, the expectation is citizens will bring law breakers to the attention of the Judicial system. Legal proceedings will be fast, with few people involved. For interactions outside of the framework of the laws, cultural norms dominate. Machine guns, other automatic weapons, portable energy weapons, and other military weapons, body pistols, explosives, and poison gas are typically regulated or prohibited.
