Chronor is a high-population world with a billion or more sophonts in population size. This system serves as the capital for the subsector. The world has a colony on Errere (Spinward Marches 0103). It is a member of Zhodani Consulate in the Cronor Subsector of Spinward Marches Sector and in the Province of Iadr Nsobl. This world supports a Zhodani Military Base and the system supports a Zhodani Naval Base.
- The name may also be spelled Cronor.
Description (Astrography & Planetology)[edit]
Stellar Data[edit]
Chronor has a solitary primary star.
- It is a white main sequence.
System Data[edit]
The worlds of the system have been surveyed. They consist of:
- The mainworld.
- x3 secondary rocky worlds.
- x1 planetoid belt.
Mainworld Data[edit]
The Chronor system contains a Consular Guard base and an extensive naval base, located on one of Chronor's moons. Chronor is an Imperial transliteration of the Zhodani name, and Cronor is a spelling which is also sometimes used in Galanglic documents.
Mainworld Size (S)[edit]
Chronor is a Meso World between 8,800km and 10,400km in diameter. The world has a standard gravity between 0.6G and 0.8G. The horizon will appear about 4.4km away.
Mainworld Atmosphere (A)[edit]
Chronor has a pressure of 0.10 to 0.42 atmospheres. The very thin pressures require a respirator or Oxygen Mask. TL–5 or more advanced survival gear is required to settle this world.
Mainworld Hydrosphere (H)[edit]
Chronor has 55-65% of its surface covered by liquid water. It has significant large liquid bodies. Wilderness refueling is possible.
Satellites[edit]
Chronor retains two small moons.
- They orbit once every few weeks.
Mainworld Geography and Topography[edit]
No centrally held map of the world exists within AAB Library Data records.
(Blank map, predominantly watery world.)
History & Background (Dossier)[edit]
During the Imperial antebellum period, the Imperium had expanded its settlements and colonies well into the Cronor and Querion Subsectors, even as far as the Foreven Sector. At that time the Daarnulud family moved to the frontiers of the Marches, Lord Lothar hault-Daarnulud being subsequently elevated to the High Landed title of Duke of Chronor and the Ceremonial title of Archduke of the Far Marches. After the conclusion of the conflict with the Zhodani Consulate that became known as the First Frontier War, these titles were effectively lost to the Daarnulud family and the majority of the territories in this region were ceded to the Consulate. Since that time the region has remained under Consular control.
In the modern era Chronor's massive, powerful economy produces high-technology goods for export as well as home use. It is a major hub of the Consulate postal service.
Priantqlovr Drafr, the Zhodani megacorporation that dominates transport and passenger service within the province of Iadr Nsobl, has a home port at Chronor.
Point of Interest: The Arcologies of Cronor[edit]
Inhabitants of the mainworld live in huge, sealed arcologies connected by maglev rail links and fast speeders.
World Starport (Sp)[edit]
Chronor has a Class A Starport, an excellent quality installation which includes all the expected amenities including refined fuel for starships, brokerage services for passengers and cargo, and a variety of ship provisions. There is a shipyard capable of doing annual maintenance, overhauls and other kinds of repair, and construction of both starships and non-starships. Most ports of this classification have both a Highport and a Downport.
- Chronor Highport is a large and impressive facility, a true showcase for the Consulate. The Highport receives all traffic from outside the Consulate and most from within. It contains residential areas, parks, industrial zones, and a full range of amenities for residents and visitors.
World Population (P)[edit]
Chronor has a population of 8,000,000,000 sophonts (billions).
- High Population Worlds like this tend to have huge consumer markets.
- The population almost entirely consists of Zhodani.
World Technology Level (TL)[edit]
Chronor possesses a Technology Level of TL–13 or TL-D in Hexadecimal Notation.
- Common Communication technologies for this TL include: Holovideo recorders.
- Common Power Generation technologies for this TL include: Miniature super-batteries, prototype collectors, advanced fusion plants.
- Common Transportation technologies for this TL include:
- Land, Water & Air: Personal G-Tubes and advanced gravcraft.
- Space: Advanced interplanetary spacecraft (System Craft).
- FTL: Jump Drive-4.
World Government (G)[edit]
Chronor is governed by a Charismatic Dictatorship. Charismatic governments justify their ability to rule by simply asserting their right to rule. Charismatic dictatorships are typically young governments, coming as a recent change, and rely on the leader(s) to supply head of government.
The Zhodani Consulate maintains itself through a variety of taxes on goods and services. Each council – planetary or higher – has the authority to levy a tax on gross income to support services like hospitals, emergency and transport services, or the Tavrchedl'.
World Law Level (L)[edit]
Chronor has a moderate level with laws covering many areas of government and interaction. These laws are simple enough that most people can act as their own advocate, though for serious issues a professional is recommended. Law enforcement officials will be present, but not in great numbers. Personal concealable firearms, and anything more destructive, are typically regulated or prohibited.
Three broad categories of crime are recognized by the Zhodani Consulate: inadvertent, incited, and insane. The concept of premeditated crime for personal gain fits under the insane heading.
- Inadvertent crime is an unintentional violation or infraction of the law, resulting from inattention. For minor cases the usual punishment is a small fine.
- Incited crime is an infraction of a law brought about by another, often resulting from an overreaction to inadvertent crime or misfortune. The solution is re-education.
- Insane crime is a general heading for most major crimes against property or individuals.

Later Historical Eras[edit]
New Era[edit]
The capital of Cronor has seen significant growth since the Collapse. Unfortunately, most of this has been just in the last ten years. Local services were already badly strained when the Zhodani Exodus began, dumping another ten billion people upon it. The world remains orderly, though military police units are increasingly evident in the refugee camps.
