• This world has high-grade living conditions with a good climate and a non-harmful environment. As such, this world is much sought after with large queues for immigration here.
• This world has a prosperous and thriving world economy.
• Most observers think that the planet's economy and population will prosper further in the near future barring outside forces.
• It is a member of the Third Imperium in the Tharrynra Subsector of Fornast Sector in the Domain of Sylea.
• This is a "Puzzle" world designated as an Amber Zone. Caution is advised since the world has an environment, laws, customs, life forms, or other conditions that are not well understood and might be a danger to a visitor.
• It is the homeworld of the Ishumi, a sophont species and minor race.

Bold is a Meso World between 8,800km and 10,400km in diameter. The world has a standard gravity between 0.6G and 0.8G. The horizon will appear about 4.4km away.

Mainworld Atmosphere (A)

Bold has a pressure of 0.71 to 1.49 atmospheres. A Standard Atmosphere does not require survival gear and will likely be easy for most sophonts to breathe.

Mainworld Hydrosphere (H)

Bold has 15-25% of its surface covered by liquid water or ice. There may be a few small seas. Wilderness refueling is possible. Water for the inhabitants needs to be imported and extensively recycled. These worlds are Hell Worlds or Poor Worlds depending on their atmosphere.

History & Background (Dossier)

Bold is a Puzzle World and is designated as an Amber Zone. It presents particular risks and dangers due to the environment or native life forms, laws or customs, or other conditions that are not well understood.

• Visitors are advised to act with caution.

Bold is named for its people; the race name ishumi translates as "the Bold".

Native Sophont (NIL): Ishumi

The Ishumi are a people who have long been comfortable remaining on their world, somewhat ironically given their self-identification (see below).

The Ishumi were contacted by the Vilani but had no interest in offworld goods or alien technology. Their world was visited periodically by hopeful Vilani traders seeking to open the market but there is no evidence that any succeeded.

During the Rule of Man, Bold briefly hosted a scientific settlement, coincidentally beyond the usual range of the still-primitive Ishumi. While the settlers all retreated to more promising worlds as the Rule of Man collapsed, their buildings and instruments remained, and during the Long Night the Ishumi discovered them. By the time the Third Imperium moved into Fornast, the Ishumi had long been comfortable with the idea of alien influence, and were more receptive than their ancestors. The modern people of Bold have accepted the basics of Imperial civilization, though few desire to leave home.

World Starport

Bold has a Class C Starport, an average quality installation which features amenities including unrefined fuel for starships, some brokerage services for passengers and cargo, and a variety of ship provisions. There is a shipyard capable of doing maintenance and other kinds of repair. Ports of this classification generally have only a downport, unless this is a trade port or system with an hostile environment mainworld.

Bold has a population of 600,000,000 sophonts (hundreds of millions).

• Almost the entire population consists of Ishumi.

Bold possesses a Technology Level of TL–8.
