Odinaga is an icy, non-agricultural and nonindustrial vacuum world, whose surface is ice-capped and with nearly all of its water frozen and warranting hazardous environment precautions.
- It is unable to produce quality foodstuffs and must import them.
- It requires extensive imports of outside technology to maintain a modern, star-faring society.
- It is a member of the Third Imperium in the Vhodan Subsector of Vland Sector in the Domain of Vland.
- This is a frozen world, with a climate of extremely low temperatures.
- It is a main world which is a satellite of either a gas giant or another world.
- This is a "high technology" world with technology achievements at, near, or over technology standards for Charted Space.
- Odinaga is located on the Vilani Main.
- Some star charts mistakenly refer to this world as Ondinaga.
Description (Astrography & Planetology)[edit]
Odinaga is a binary star system.
- The primary is a red main sequence named Koji.
- The secondary is a red main sequence named Ezin.
Binary Solar System[edit]

System Data[edit]
Odinaga consists of two separate star systems:
Koji, the primary star, retains three rocky worlds and three gas giants.
- Three small unnamed vacuum secondary worlds orbit within Koji's narrow inner system and habitable zone.
- Ginzel and Hayash, two ice giants, orbit within the cold outer system.
- Fatooh, a large gas giant, marks the outer edge of Koji's system.
- Odinaga, the mainworld, is the largest moon of Fatooh.
Ezin, the secondary star, retains three small rocky worlds.
- Two small unnamed vacuum secondary worlds orbit within the star's narrow inner system and habitable zone.
- An unnamed insidious atmosphere superterran world marks the outer edge of Ezin's system.
- A chart depicting the Odinaga system, based on data provided in "The Flaming Eye".
Mainworld Data[edit]
Odinaga is the outer major satellite of the large gas giant Fatooh.
The mainworld and its gas giant primary orbit within the outer system.
- They receive very low levels of stellar energy.
- They orbit beyond the stars Jump Shadow.
Mainworld Size (S)[edit]
Odinaga is a Small World between 2,400km and 4,000km in diameter. The world has low gravity between 0.1G and 0.17G. The horizon will appear about 2.5km away.
Mainworld Atmosphere (A)[edit]
Odinaga has a pressure of less than 0.001 atmospheres which requires the use of a Vacc Suit. TL–8 or more advanced survival gear is required to settle this world.
Mainworld Hydrosphere (H)[edit]
Odinaga has 05-15% of its surface covered by ice, either in vast sheets or contained deep within craters or fractures on the surface. Wilderness refueling is possible. Water for the inhabitants can be got by mining and melting ice.
- The surface of the world is composed of a crust of ice many kilometers thick.
- Much of the surface is cratered and covered in thick layers of regolith and dust of meteoric origin, leaving only around 10% of the icy outer shell exposed.
- Below the outer icy shell there may be a world-ocean of liquid water.
Mainworld Geography and Topography[edit]
A map of Odinaga, the nominated mainworld of the system, showing the cratered regolith wastes, rugged upland regions, and the vast ice plains.
- Far more detailed maps are available locally.
- Verified updated charts are constantly sought.
- Detailed survey data commands premium prices.
- A map of Odinaga based on data provided in "The Flaming Eye".
History & Background (Dossier)[edit]
World Starport (St)[edit]
Odinaga has a Class A Starport, an excellent quality installation which includes all the expected amenities including refined fuel for starships, brokerage services for passengers and cargo, and a variety of ship provisions. There is a shipyard capable of doing annual maintenance, overhauls and other kinds of repair, and construction of both starships and non-starships. Most ports of this classification have both a Highport and a Downport.
World Population (P)[edit]
Odinaga has a population of 2,000,000 sophonts (millions).
- This is a Nonindustrial World, too small to support the complete chain of production of most goods from start to finish.
Urbanization[edit]
All of Odinaga's population live in sealed cities constructed on top of (and deep into) the worlds ice plains:
- Merghia (population 880,000), the capital city of the world and the site of the starport.
- Oglez (population 600,000), constructed above deep fissures in the ice.
- Tinamou (population 590,000).
- Nzuyen (population 310,000).
- Leong (population 270,000), constructed within a vast impact crater.
- Rallz (population 180,000).
- Zhita (population 140,000).
- Ranganathan (population 105,000), built into the face of a sheer cliff.
World Technology Level (T)[edit]
Odinaga possesses a Technology Level of TL–12 or TL-C in Hexadecimal Notation.
- Common Communication technologies for this TL include: Holovision, Personal Global Communications, and advanced Translators.
- Common Power Generation technologies for this TL include: Increasingly advanced fusion plants and advanced fuel cells.
- Common Transportation technologies for this TL include:
- Land, Water & Air: Personal G-Tubes and advanced gravcraft.
- Space: Advanced interplanetary spacecraft (System Craft).
- FTL: Jump Drive-3.
World Government (G)[edit]
Odinaga is governed by a Charismatic Dictatorship. Charismatic governments justify their ability to rule by simply asserting their right to rule. Charismatic dictatorships are young governments, coming as a recent change and rely on the leader(s) to supply head of government.
World Law (L)[edit]
Odinaga has a high law level with laws covering many areas of interactions of people, corporations, and the government. A few worlds with this law level may be Amber Zones. Any interaction with the judicial system requires an Advocate trained in the local legal system. Law enforcement is present almost everywhere, either as people or via technology. Legal proceedings can take weeks to months to resolve and involve a dozen or more people. All objects specifically manufactured as weapons are typically regulated or prohibited (outside private residences or visiting starships).
Imperial High (Landed) Nobility[edit]
Odinaga, as a member world of the Third Imperium has a member of the Imperial Nobility overseeing the world.
Trade Data[edit]
- Importance: 1 (ordinary)
World Economy[edit]
- Resources: B (abundant)
- Labor: 5 (tens of thousands)
- Infrastructure: 5 (limited)
- Efficiency: +2 (good)
World Culture[edit]
- Heterogenity: 7 (discordant)
- Acceptance: 7 (aloof)
- Strangeness: 6 (very distinct)
- Symbols: D (very abstract)
World Timeline[edit]
Major events that have affected this world and the wider region that it lies within:
- -4045 to -2204: the Ziru Sirka claims and settles worlds across the region.
- -2404 to -2215: the Interstellar Wars.
- -2204 to -1776: the Rule of Man administers the worlds of the region.
- -1776 to 0: the Long Night. There is widespread regression within the area and some worlds become barren.
- The Year 0: the Third Imperium is founded.
- 300-420: the First Survey charts the system.
- 604 to 622: the Imperial Civil War. The region suffers disruption and widespread economic issues.
- 624: the Express Boat Network is established, facilitating communications, trade, and economic growth within the area.
- 995-1065: the Second Survey charts the system.
- 1065: the Second Survey is published. Information about the system becomes widely available.
