Brookwall is a high-population, non-agricultural and industrial vacuum world, with a billion or more sophonts in population size, warranting hazardous environment precautions.

  • As an industrial world, this planet has well-developed manufacturing and processing industries. Manufactured goods are a major export item.
  • It is unable to produce quality foodstuffs and must import them.
  • This world toils under the control of a military government with conditions reflecting that situation, including curtailed civil rights and limited freedoms.
  • This is a "Puzzle" world designated as an Amber Zone. Caution is advised since the world has an environment, laws, customs, life forms, or other conditions that are not well understood and might be a danger to a visitor.
  • It is an unclaimed Non-Aligned world located in the New Holland Subsector of Alpha Crucis Sector.
  • This world-system has a Military Base, usually associated with military ground forces, which may be located on or off-world.

Description (Specifications)[edit]

This world is part of the namesake Brookwall Group stellar cluster.

System Data[edit]

No information yet available.

Mainworld Data[edit]

Brookwall is a tiny gas giant moon and a typical paraterraformed Selenite 'world city.'

Mainworld Size (S)[edit]

Brookwall is a Small World between 900km and 2,400km in diameter. The world has very low gravity between 0.05G and 0.09G. The horizon will appear about 2km away.

Mainworld Atmosphere (A)[edit]

Brookwall has a pressure of less than 0.001 atmospheres which requires the use of a Vacc Suit. TL–8 or more advanced survival gear is required to settle this world.

Mainworld Hydrosphere (H)[edit]

Brookwall has no free-standing water or ice on the surface. Wilderness refueling isn't possible on this world. Water for the inhabitants needs to be imported and extensively recycled. These worlds are classified Desert World or a Hell World depending on their atmosphere.

History & Background (Dossier)[edit]

Brookwall is a high-population, industrial vacuum world.

The population almost entirely consists of Selenites, a Variant Human Race engineered to live in low gravity environments. Most Selenites are deeply uncomfortable outside an environment that can be neatly controlled. Being outdoors on a 'wild' planet is unsettling to them, and sudden rain or even a strong gust of wind might provoke panicked demands for reassurance.

World Starport (Sp)[edit]

Brookwall has a Class C Starport, an average quality installation which features amenities including unrefined fuel for starships, some brokerage services for passengers and cargo, and a variety of ship provisions. There is a shipyard capable of doing maintenance and other kinds of repair. Ports of this classification generally have only a downport, unless this is a trade port or system with an hostile environment mainworld.

World Population (P)[edit]

Brookwall has a population of 4,000,000,000 sophonts (billions).

World Demographics[edit]

Brookwall is populated almost entirely by Selenites.

World Government[edit]

Brookwall has a Captive Government or Colony. The world is ruled by an external government, there is no self-rule. This is a colony or conquered area. The local government is an oligarchy appointed by, and answerable only to, the external government.

The official government of Brookwall is a Confederation puppet consisting of loyalist officials and outside administrators. The world is not truly under military rule but many aspects of martial law are in place.

World Military[edit]

There is a significant force of Confederation military stationed on Brookwall in order to maintain peace. The Home Guard and Home Navy were both splintered during the civil war and the remaining loyalist elements are skeletons of their former selves.

The Zimmerists maintain an active insurgency on the planet.

World Law Level (L)[edit]

Brookwall has an extreme law level which covers every area of interaction. Laws are complex, detailed, and difficult to understand. Every interaction with the government requires an Advocate. Law enforcement is omnipresent and strict. Legal proceeding can take months to years to resolve and may involve dozens of people. A few worlds with this law level may be a Red Zone and others will be an Amber Zone. All objects specifically manufactured as weapons are typically regulated or prohibited (with no exception for private residences; visiting starships are only protected so long as they stay within designated starports and approach corridors).

World Technology Level (TL)[edit]

Brookwall possesses a Technology Level of TL–13 or TL-D in Hexadecimal Notation.

  • Common Communication technologies for this TL include: Holovideo recorders.
  • Common Power Generation technologies for this TL include: Miniature super-batteries, prototype collectors, advanced fusion plants.
  • Common Transportation technologies for this TL include:

World Culture[edit]

The people of Brookwall differ little from other Selenites. They are a self-sufficient people who distrust outsiders. A significant difference to Selenites from other worlds is the Zimmerist ideology regarding the genetic superiority of Selenites over other Solomani. Not all Brookwall citizens subscribe to the Zimmerist cause, but a significant portion of them do.

Historical Data[edit]

In 1099 Brookwall fell under the control of Tobias Zimmer, whose writings proclaimed the superiority of genetically-upgraded Solomani in general and Selenites in particular. Zimmer was assassinated by a bodyguard but his martyrdom only fueled anti-Confederation sentiment. Rioting followed and in 1101 civil war erupted between Zimmerists and anti-Zimmerists.

Fearing the rise of a pan-Selenite nationalist movement, the New Holland and Regulus subsector fleets of the Solomani Navy arrived in 1102. The ongoing Brookwall Police Action is now a bloody insurgency as loyalist Home Guard and Solomani Army troops battle Zimmerist militias through the tunnels of the world city. A large Zimmerist insurgent movement remains but the Confederation is determined to crush it.
