Secondary World Hydrosphere (S)

Chamax is a Meso World between 8,800km and 10,400km in diameter. The world has a standard gravity between 0.6G and 0.8G. The horizon will appear about 4.4km away.

Secondary World Hydrosphere (A)

Chamax has a pressure of 0.43 to 0.70 atmospheres. The Thin Atmosphere does not require survival gear although it may be hard on sophonts not accustomed to it.

Secondary World Hydrosphere (H)

Chamax has 35-45% of its surface covered by liquid water. There will be a number of small seas or one larger body of water. Wilderness refueling is possible.

Mainworld Geography and Topography

A number of maps of the world exist within AAB Library Data records.

  • Its poles have large permanent ice caps. The average temperature is cooler than human standard.
  • Note that since the original world maps were produced huge regions of the surface have become covered in thick glaciers.
  • This process of glaciation has dramatically affected the sea levels and coastlines.

History & Background (Dossier)

Comp-Prog-Dav-R-Deitrick-Starter-Trav-Page-16 16-July-2018a.jpg

Chamax is a Forbidden World and is designated as a Red Zone. It presents serious risks and dangers due to the environment or native life forms, laws or customs, or other conditions that make it extremely dangerous to visitors.

  • Travel to this world is prohibited.

It is a Die Back World, with abandoned ruins and remains on its surface. These are favorite locations for xeno-archaeologists, adventurers, and treasure seekers, among others. A wealth of valuable artifacts can be found by those willing to skirt laws which assert that the state or an organization has possession of such objects, rather than the individual who recovered them.

The world was home to an advanced, unnamed sophont people of quasi-crustacean appearance. They had a sophisticated native civilization and were known to the pre-Maghiz Darrians, who traded with them. The Chamaxi never had the jump drive, although their world otherwise had TL–9 technology. As of the last Darrian visit, the UWP was classified as F655896-9.

By 700 Imperial, visiting Darrian traders only saw ruin where once there was vegetation, animals, and cities.

As of the current time, the world has no major forms of land life, save for one species of voracious eater that is simply called Chamax.

World Starport (St)

Chamax does not have a starport. The Class X Starport is an indication that no starport exists in the system. There are no facilities or services available, and no site marked for landing.

World Population (P)

Chamax is a Barren World with no sophont population. It may still possess lifeforms.

World Technology Level (T)

Chamax has a die back Tech Level of TL–9.

  • The world has no functioning technological base.

Salvage

  • Remains on this world include electronic devices, complex mechanical components, worked metals, and raw materials. Some equipment may still be functional.
    • These may be salvaged.

World Government (G)

Chamax has no government or ruling authority of any kind.

World Law (L)

Chamax has no law level. No laws of any kind are enforced.
