The Huuran of Rosorky are a Minor Non-Human Race native to Fulani Sector.

Description (Specifications)[edit]

Huuran are naturally adapted to far warmer temperature ranges and slightly lower atmospheric pressures than Humans, and prefer a significantly lower gravity.

Physiology[edit]

Huuran are descended from tunnel-dwelling herbivores. They carefully cultivate specific native crops and have a very limited diet.

Body pattern: non-humanoid, trilaterally symmetrical N-TBS-AA-NN-T. Triangular section (three sided), a dexterous upper arm and strong lower arm project from the top part of each side.

  • Some Humans refer to them as "three-worms".

Huuran have poor vision. They primarily use vibration, scent, and an ability to sense electromagnetic fields.

The average Huuran is around 1.5 meters long, can raise itself up to a height of around 2 meters, and masses around 80 kg -- they are slightly larger than Humans. A Huuran may curl its tail below itself, use its lower arms for support, and maintain an upright posture.

  • Huuran are a form of skiapod, moving by using an undulating wave motion along their body.
  • Their body is supported by internal fluid-filled sacs and rings of cartilage.
  • They have the ability to squeeze through very narrow gaps and openings.

Huuran have a dense leathery hide. Their forward parts are more heavily protected. They are a dark grey color and have a strong musky smell.

Psychology[edit]

The Huuran exhibit recognized characteristics of intelligence:

  • Conceptual thought, including abstract language.
  • Social structure, including social organization.
  • Tool use, allowing environmental manipulation.

Huuran psychology is driven by factors common to many sophonts:

  • Acquisition (stemming from the need to gather adequate nutrition),
  • Preservation (derived from the need to continue their personal existence), and
  • Perpetuation (the urge to continue the species).

Huuran are generally considered arrogant, direct, and overbearing.

Demographics[edit]

The total known population equals 10 million individuals.

Native Culture[edit]

  • Homogeneity: 9 (discordant)
  • Acceptance: 5 (very aloof)
  • Strangeness: 3 (somewhat typical)
  • Symbols: 3 (very concrete)

History & Background (Dossier)[edit]

Red is Naylyoeatru. Yellow is other sophont homeworlds.

The Chowwar, Enchai, Huuran, Muu, and Nagad all appear to have evolved intelligence at the same time.

All five species retain almost identical dormant markers within their genetic makeup.

  • Other than the timing of their emergent sapience, they have few other biological or chemical similarities.

Homeworld[edit]

The homeworld of this race is:

Local Technology[edit]

Rosorky possesses a Technology Level of TL–4.

Local Government[edit]

Rosorky is governed by a Feudal Technocracy. Society divides itself based on the technical requirements of the society. Each of these functions are granted as a fief to an individual or group. Leadership of these fiefs determines the head of the government.

Local Law[edit]

Rosorky has a low law level. There are few laws, covering only important areas. There may be few or no law enforcement officers, the expectation is citizens will bring law breakers to the attention of the Judicial system. Legal proceedings will be fast, with few people involved. For interactions outside of the framework of the laws, cultural norms dominate. Machine guns, other automatic weapons, portable energy weapons, and other military weapons, body pistols, explosives, and poison gas are typically regulated or prohibited.

World Listing: 1105[edit]
